UPLOADING VIDEOS TO YOUTUBE (WITH SCREENSHOTS)
Zoom Videos Process
Create zoom meeting for semester with automatic recording to cloud – make sure to log in to http://yale.zoom.us to set this up as a recurring meeting
All files are saved under “Recordings” by the meeting name and date
Look for the date and the record with 5 or 6 files (the correct file usually lasts around one hour; if it is too short, the recorded might have made a mistake, so there is no point in downloading)
Download the file “Shared screen with speaker view”
PC steps
The file created by following the above steps will be saved in the “Downloads” folder on your computer
To upload to YouTube, log into the Wright Lab account and click on the “create” button, and then from the drop-down menu “upload video.” A new window will appear to select the file from your computer to be uploaded
Change the title and description to the following format/convention
(Ignore thumbnail because YouTube automatically selects one). From “playlists” select NPA or the corresponding playlist
For “audience” select “no, it’s not made for kids”
Use whatever tools you want to grab an image to be the cover image for the video on YouTube (if you want to add manually a thumbnail image; otherwise, YouTube will select automatically one)
When files are uploaded to YouTube use “Unlisted” for those files we want to limit access to; otherwise, use “public” if the video has already been edited and cut accordingly using an external tool (for example, iMovie). Use “private” if the video has not been edited/cut and you wish to do so in Video editor on YouTube once the video has been uploaded.
Add WL 2-line white logo to the end of the video and trim the beginning and ending of the video
Once the edits go through, change the settings from “private” to “public”
