Description
This is a WEIGHT-LIFTING & CONDITIONING class is for all student-athletes who are currently on the BHS Football Team. Multi-sport athletes should communicate with each head coach they participate with in determining which weight-lifting class the student-athlete should take and when. Students wanting to tryout for football should take the PE/Conditioning (73211) class first or communicate with the head football coach prior to taking this class. This class is highly advanced and works at a pace consistent with extreme conditioning. This class is usually recognized during 5th Period.

Description
This is WEIGHT-LIFTING & CONDITIONING class for ALL STUDENTS. This class is usually recognized as either an entry-level class or an advanced-level class. It is highly recommended that if the student has never taken a weight-lifting class that the student take the entry-level class first. Both classes will teach students how to lift, how to develop an individualized workout, how to schedule a workout program utilizing different levels of intensity over the course of a semester. Students are required to workout and workout in clothing and shoes appropriate for lifting. As a participation-graded class, effort determines the student's grade. Please be prepared to workout if you choose to take this class.

Description
This is a WEIGHT LIFTING & CONDITIONING class for all student-athletes who have made or are currently on a BHS Sport Team, except for Football. This class is designed to weight train specifically for the student-athlete's sport. There are two class periods dedicated to this course. For female student-athletes, this class is usually recognized during 4th Period. For male student-athletes, this class is usually recognized during 8th Period. The goal is to have male-specific and a female-specific class. Multi-sport student-athletes should communicate with each head coach in determining which weight lifting classes to take and when. For students not currently on a BHS sports team and who want to tryout for a BHS sports team, students should communicate with the head coach of the sport they are wanting to tryout for PRIOR to enrolling in the class in order to determine whether this class would be benefit the student. Alternatively, all students may want to join the PE/Conditioning (73211) class first instead of a sports-specific weight lifting class in order to learn how to lift within a pace designed more closely to learning how to lift correctly, becoming confident in common lifting techniques, and learning what each lift is called and how it is expected to be executed.

Description
This course is an individualized, concepts-based, one-semester course designed to give students the knowledge and skills necessary to self-asses, create, conduct, evaluate, and redesign personal fitness programs. The course is a combination of classroom and activity-based learning activities with a focus on proper nutrition and the mastery of skills and concepts necessary for students to become accomplished monitors of the personal lifetime fitness. Through participation, student will learn to compare the fitness benefits in a variety of individual and team activities. Student will become proficient in the use of a variety of assessments, measurement devices, exercise equipment, web and community resources and computer software. Assigned reading and writing assignments which include activity journals and portfolios. Course will broaden the physical education experience and contribute to the literacy of the student. This course is required for graduation, no substitutions, including participation in athletics.

This PE course is for those students who have successfully completed PE/Fitness for Life. It will cover the fundamental skills of a variety of sports and activities which include soccer, basketball, flag football, volleyball, badminton and more. This course will emphasize lifetime physical fitness through sports and games.
