An introduction to automotive shop safety, pollution prevention, hazardous waste handling, Internet-based electronic service information, diagnostic scan tools, NATEF certifications, developing job interview skills, and resume' writing. (This course is a prerequisite for all automotive service courses except Small Vehicle Technician). SAFETY GLASSES REQUIRED. Overalls and leather shoes recommended.

In-depth study of automotive electrical systems. Starters, charging, lighting, gauges and warning devices and batteries. Students will receive the industry NATEF ASE certification upon passing the NATEF test.
A comprehensive study including hands-on repair of the automobiles electrical system. Service procedures include basic electrical testing using test lights and multi-meters, reading basic electrical schematics, battery service, starter service, alternator service, and troubleshooting the various systems. 2 period block. SAFETY GLASSES REQUIRED. Overalls and leather shoes recommended.

This class is the Capstone of Auto Technology. A Comprehensive study including hands-on repair of the automobile's ignition and emissions systems. Service procedures include scope analysis, compression testing, cylinder leak-down testing, and component testing with digital multi-meter and lab scopes, tune-up, cooling system repair, lubrication system repair, intake systems repair, exhaust repair, engine testing, engine replacement, engine disassembly, cleaning and measurement, and troubleshooting of the various systems 2-period block. Pre-alignment inspections, 4-wheel alignment, conventional suspension & steering systems, McPherson strut service, rack & pinion steering service, and component replacement.
