Description
This course focuses on argumentative writing. Students will address adult topics, analyze a variety of written texts, improve their reading comprehension, and develop their own writing style. A score of 3 or higher on the AP exam at the end of the year will result in college credit at most universities and will allow students to bypass English 1010 their senior year and advance to English 2010.

Description
This CE course is a blend of in-class and online learning activities. Students must have a 17 or higher on both ACT English and Reading (or equivalent) to sign up for Eng1010. This class introduces the basic principles of college writing: finding, evaluating, and understanding source material while recognizing sources as part of an ongoing conversation. Students produce informal and formal writing, demonstrating knowledge of academic literacy conventions such as summary, synthesis and citation. This is a 3 credit course that satisfies high school graduation requirements and a Composition General Education requirement at all USHE. Students must earn a C or better in Eng1010 (or pass AP Lang) before enrolling in Eng2015.
