Description

This course focuses on argumentative writing. Students will address adult topics, analyze a variety of written texts, improve their reading comprehension, and develop their own writing style. A score of 3 or higher on the AP exam at the end of the year will result in college credit at most universities and will allow students to bypass English 1010 their senior year and advance to English 2010.

Comments

Score of 3 or higher on the AP exam earns credit for Eng1010 and qualifies students for Eng2015.

Description

Students must have a 17 or higher on both ACT English and Reading (or equivalent) to sign up for Eng1010. Students produce 4 major projects that demonstrate knowledge of writing conventions such as summary, synthesis and citation and focus on digital literacy. This is a 3 credit college course that satisfies high school graduation requirements if students earn a C or better. 

Pre-requisite for Eng2015.
