Description
This is an introductory course designed to allow students the opportunity to learn Mariachi technique, style, and interpretation. The Mariachi ensemble will rehearse and perform traditional mariachi music and learn of Mexican culture and history. Instrumentation for this ensemble includes, violin, guitarron, vihuela, trumpet, acoustic guitar, and voice. Students will encounter a wide range of "Mexico's traditional music": that will include Bolero, Ranchera, and Son. This course is designed for students with little or no experience but is open to students with prior instrumental experience as well.
