Prioritising the most urgent and important tasks is an important step towards meeting deadlines. Making time for a weekly review can really help you to prioritise and make sure that you don't miss anything.
Use this activity to review your week of work, and help you to prioritise work for the next week.

Breaking Down Tasks
When you first get a bit assignment, it can helpful to break it down into smaller tasks and create a checklist. Sometimes this is something your teacher might provide you with, and sometimes it's something you create yourself.
Once you have a checklist of smaller tasks, you can estimate how long each tasks might take to complete. You can also consider where you need to be to complete that task, and if you need to wait for any additional input (e.g. a particular lesson) to be able to complete it.
You can add the information above to your checklist, and create a deadline for yourself for each task.
Example:
This student has been asked to create a 10 minute History presentation on the Battle of Bosworth to share with their class. The date is Thursday 1st Feb and they have been asked to share it on Thursday 15th Feb. The document below is their checklist.
This document is a checklist completed for the student in the example above.
This document is a blank checklist. you might like to use it (adapted as necessary) to breakdown your work for a new assignment.
