FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Updating student records

Student's own their personal records and as such, under GDPR, requests to update their own or parents / carers information must come via the student. We ask students to send us written confirmation from their College email account so that we can verify their identity.

For some changes, such as name changes, evidence will be required e.g. a deed poll.

Letters confirming enrolment & student references

Status Letters

Status letters are normally required by parents and carers or those living independently in order to confirm educational status for benefits.

To request a letter, please email: studentletter.sixthform@windsor-forest.ac.uk

Job References

If you require a reference, please ask your employer to contact us. The College provides a basic reference which will include your enrolment dates and any grades achieved. Any serious disciplinary issues on record may also be disclosed. Please ask employers to email: studentletter.sixthform@windsor-forest.at.uk

Accessing attendance information

Basic attendance information is available from the Parent Portal. For more detailed information or if you have any concerns, please contact Student Services on 01784 228606 or email studentservices.sixthform@windsor-forest.ac.uk.

Accessing exam results

Exam results are only released to students and cannot unfortunately be released to parents / carers directly or provided via the phone. Students will receive information from the Exams Team ahead of results days and will typically be available to download from ProPortal from 8.00am on the day of release.

Accessing student timetables

Students can access their timetables via ProPortal. Parents and carers can request a current copy by contacting Student Services on studentservices.sixthform@windsor-forest.ac.uk.

I don't know who my student's teachers are and I would like to talk to them?

Please contact Student Services and will happy provide this information. Your student's Personal Tutor will contact you at the beginning of the academic year to introduce themselves. They will be your first point of contact for any holistic concerns that you may have about your student's progress or wellbeing.

If you need to find out who a specific teacher is, please contact main reception on 01753 793000 and select the relevant campus options, or please call Student Services on 01784 228606.

I want to make a complaint, who do I contact?

The College's complaints policy is available here. You are welcome to initially raise any concerns with Naomi Bailey, Assistant Principal (Student Services - Sixth Form) on 01784 228605 or email nbailey@windsor-forest.ac.uk.

Should my student tell you about any health, wellbeing or medical issues?

Yes. It is really important that we are aware of any medical, health or mental health concerns that a student is dealing with. Disclosing these will not affect a students ability to take a course but does ensure that we can make appropriate adjustments and ensure support is in place wherever necessary.

For students with Learning Needs, Disabilities or an EHCP, please speak to the Learning Support Team on learning.support@windsor-forest.ac.uk.

I have a safeguarding concern, who should I contact?

Please contact us on either 01753 443850 or safeguarding@windsor-forest.ac.uk and we will be happy to discuss any concerns with you.

What are student review days and when do they happen?

Student review days take place twice a year. No teaching takes place on these days and instead students will attend a short online appointment with their subject teachers to discuss their progress. Parents and carers are encouraged to attend wherever possible. Appointments take place online and the College will send out full guidance to both students and parents / carers nearer the time.

How do I purchase College items or pay for trips and visits?

The College operates a Cashless Payment Portal. Students will be advised when items are available to purchase. Both students and parents / carers can register for the portal and purchase items. Following the purchase you will receive an email receipt.

Who do I contact about Duke of Edinburgh?

2022/23 subject leads pending confirmation.

Who I contact about UCAS (University applications)?

In the first instance, please contact your student's Personal Tutor. The College's Careers Advisors are also available to offer general advice and guidance about university applications.

What is Safe Drive, Stay Alive?

Safe Drive Stay Alive, is a live theatre based education production that aims to raise road safety awareness amongst young people and to positively influence their attitudes to driving and as passengers.

Each performance features a sequence of films and live speakers, each recounting a personal story about the impact of a road traffic collision. Representatives from the Police, Ambulance, A&E and Fire services make up our live speaker team, along with a member of the public whose life has been affected by a fatal road traffic collision. All stories include advice for the audience on how to keep themselves safe and avoid being involved in a road traffic collision themselves.
