FESTA OFFERS NARCAN TRAINING AT WISD

The FESTA program will host two NARCAN training sessions this semester at the WISD Board Room—one for adults and one for teens (ages 14+). All attendees will receive a free Narcan Kit. Narcan, the brand name for naloxone, is a life-saving medication used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, rapidly restoring normal breathing and consciousness in someone who has overdosed on opioids such as heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone, or morphine.

During the Teen session, students will learn that while they cannot self-carry Narcan in school buildings since it is a medication, Narcan is available in the Nurse’s office if needed.

Come celebrate our amazing high school athletes at this festive family event! Enjoy delicious food, fun games and activities for the kids, raffle prizes, and a silent auction for parents. Plus, KWVH 94.3 Wimberley Valley Radio will be broadcasting live from the event! Don’t miss this exciting night of Texan pride and community spirit. Proceeds will benefit ALL the WISD Athletic Programs.

SPEECH AND DEBATE WEEKEND UPDATE

The Speech and Debate team competed this weekend in San Antonio and placed 4th out of 25 schools. The following people placed at the Taft High School virtual tournament on Friday night:

REGION JAZZ

Congratulations to our students who competed this weekend for the ATSSB Region Jazz contest. We took 3 students with us on Saturday, and returned with some great results! All 3 students were new to this contest, and here are the results!

Owen Steed, 1st place on Bass and Area bound!

TEXAN CHOIR 

Each fall, over 70,000 Texas high school students begin the All-State audition process. 1,810 are ultimately selected to rehearse and perform during the annual TMEA Clinic/Convention in one of 18 Texas All-State ensembles. Wimberley Texan Choir will audition for TMEA Region Choir on October 4th! 

If you see any of these students, make sure to wish them good luck!

SENIOR PHOTO INFORMATION

This year, Wimberley has partnered with CADY: The Premier Photography Studio.  They will be taking cap and gown photos on campus on October 22 and again in December.  Optionally, CADY has two beautiful studios you can choose from, one in San Antonio and one in Cedar Park. 

EITHER WAY -- All seniors NEED TO sign up for their photography session as soon as possible. Note: Seniors should have their photo taken by December 30, 2025, to ensure yearbook and graduation inclusion.

• You will notice several options for your session, everything from an Elite experience ranging from $199-$399 (includes hair/make-up and off-site locations) to a Simple Session for $29 if you are looking for something basic. They even offer a free yearbook-only option that includes your yearbook pose and cap and gown images. Please scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN to view all options.

• Session fees DO NOT include photos. There are several photo packages to choose from, and payment plans are available.

• If you only want to take cap and gown photos on campus, click through all the in studio options they'll throw at you.

GAME NIGHT FOR TEENS (AGES 13-16)

On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 5:00–6:30 PM, Child First in Dripping Springs is hosting a night of fun, friends, and games! This event is specifically designed for teens diagnosed with ADHD and will feature card & board games, Minute-to-Win-It challenges, pizza, snacks, and refreshments.

Come ready to laugh, play, and connect with other awesome teens in a welcoming and supportive space.

TRC SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

To celebrate the "E - Eachother" day in our TEXAN Week celebration, we'll be collecting school supplies for teachers throughout WISD. It is typical for teachers, especially at the elementary level, to run out of essential supplies before the end of the year, so we hope to support one another by addressing this issue. 

Students can bring donated supplies to their social studies teacher, starting now, through Wednesday, October 15th. The grade level that donates the most school supplies will get to vote on a principal to pie at a pep rally! 

The most commonly requested supplies are:

• Glue sticks

• Dry Erase Markers

• Kleenex

• Clorox Wipes

• Colored Pencils

• Paper Towels

• Ticonderoga Pencils
