I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday. Many students continued to work hard in their extracurricular activities, and we had some exciting games over the break. Congratulations to the Lady Texan Volleyball team for making it to the State Championship game! Also, congrats to Texan Football for their playoff run. I realize things did not go as planned, but I am very proud of how our kids performed and how they represented the school, community, and their families.
The third six weeks are wrapping up, and semester exams are approaching soon. Below, you will find the semester exam schedule. Please use this time before the exams to study, attend tutorials, and communicate with your teachers if you have any questions or concerns.
Additionally, there have been some changes to the Fall Semester Exam schedule. The dates and start and end times of school are the same, but the times during the school day in which the exams are held have changed slightly. Please look for the updated exam schedule in the newsletter.

AUSTIN YOUTH CAREER FEST: REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED
Who:
Students grades 8–12, chaperones, and career/university vendors.
18+ may attend independently
Under 18 need parent permission or a chaperone
When: January 28, 2026 • 9am–12pm
Where: Palmer Events Center, Austin, TX
What: Explore careers, youth jobs, resources, and meet college reps: over 200 vendors and 3,000+ attendees.

INSTRUCTOR: Debbie Deleeon
Debbie practiced yoga for many years, eventually becoming a certified yoga instructor in 2021. Debbie is excited to share her love of yoga with others, specifically students navigating the stresses with navigating secondary school.
A mother of four sons, Debbie believes that incorporating yoga practice can be a healthy benefit for students. In yoga, stretching and breath work can help decompress life's demands with school work, outside jobs, decisions regarding post-secondary plans, etc.
Yoga asanas (poses/stretches) along with breath work, help to relax and be mindful with oneness of our inner being. It's a wonderful tool to assist with the chaos of life.
Debbie is a retiree with a 21 year career in Texas Public Schools. She is currently a trained WISD Volunteer.

2025-26 ATTENDANCE RECOVERY TIMES
ATTENDANCE REMINDER: Please make sure you are always covering your student's absence with some sort of documentation, even if it is a personal reason. This helps keep the student's attendance clean and avoids any questions of truancy.
All students should present a note upon their arrival to school if they are not here when the bell rings. If you are not signing your student in at the main office, please send a handwritten note or email to amy.bock@wimberleyisd.net so we know you are aware of their tardiness/whereabouts. It will be flagged as truancy otherwise.

LEO CLUB HOSTS CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE
Wimberley High School is proud to support Brown Santa this holiday season! From December 1–17, we will be collecting canned goods, non-perishable food items, and new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0–14—with a special need for items geared toward ages 8–14.
Suggested Donations:
Infants (0–2): Baby toys, blankets, rattles, sensory toys
Ages 3–9: Balls, dolls, toy vehicles, LEGO sets, arts & crafts
Ages 10–14: Hand-held games, wallets, purses, backpacks, jewelry, hair tools, crafts

ACC DUAL CREDIT INFO SESSION (VIRTUAL)
You're invited to our final virtual presentation of the fall semester (via Zoom) to learn about the Dual Credit program and opportunities for students currently enrolled in high school who reside in the ACC service area to earn college credits.
The benefits of completing college credit courses while in high school include exposing students to college, providing valuable experience, and potentially satisfying high school graduation requirements. Additionally, it can also save students and their families time and money!
This session is designed for parents and their students interested in taking ACC college credit courses in the upcoming Spring and Summer 2026 semesters.

What’s next after high school? AMP helps students envision and achieve their post-graduation goals, including college, trades, careers, and more.
Who: All 10th–12th graders (with a special focus on first-generation and undecided students)
When/Where: Tuesdays, Wednesday, & Thursdays during Texan Time in the library computer lab
What You'll Do:
Career exploration and goal-setting
College & trade school guidance
FAFSA/TAFSA, financial aid, and scholarships
Help with applications and next-step planning

We wish you and your family a safe, healthy, and joyful holiday season. Extended holiday breaks are a wonderful time for students to relax, rest, and rejuvenate for the next semester. But for parents and caregivers, it can sometimes be stressful. Linked here are some helpful tips to de-stress during this holiday season. The first one is our favorite---ACCEPT IMPERFECTION. We are perfectly imperfect human beings. We must never forget that.

SCHOLARSHIPS
NEAL KORUCK SCHOLARSHIP
High school seniors from Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties who want to pursue careers in healthcare and plan to attend college in Texas are eligible to apply for up to $60,000 in financial aid over the course of their higher education. Click here for more information. The application deadline is January 2, 2026.
TEXAS LEADERSHIP SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The Texas Leadership Scholars (TLS) Program (TLS) offers a 4-year renewable scholarship (capped at cost of attendance and need) plus leadership development, mentoring, undergraduate research, and study abroad opportunities at 31 partner universities.
Student applications will be accepted October 1, 2025 – February 17, 2026.
Each application requires a high school staff recommendation. Students enter the staff member’s name and email, and that person receives the recommendation link immediately after the student submits their application.
GUADALUPE-BLANCO RIVER AUTHORITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS
The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority Scholarship Program is now open to accept applications for the 2025-2026 school year.
Scholarship recipients will be awarded up to $2,500 and can be used at any four-year and two-year university, community college, technical or trade school. The application has been updated with a new prompt and like last year, students are asked to submit their resume and cover letter. Please emphasize to students that they take time to research the prompt and write a well thought out essay with citations.

TACS SCHOLARSHIPS
Every year, the Texas Association of Community Schools (TACS) awards multiple scholarships to students. Click here to view the different scholarships. To apply for a scholarship, please send a completed application to TACS by 11:59 PM on March 1st, 2026.
