Concurrent enrollment refers to taking college classes for both high school and college credit. This is a great opportunity for students to try out unique classes and save money by earning college credits.
Qualified students grades 9 - 12 may take classes through any of the participating colleges tuition-free while still in high school. Students need to be on-track to graduate and have strong attendance. Students may also need to meet college testing requirement (if applicable).
WPS has partnerships with Front Range Community College, Community College of Denver, Red Rocks Community College, Emily Griffith Technical College and Metro State University. Students could register and attend a class on the college campus.
However, the following classes are offered at Westminster High School as a part of the regular school schedule:
Students register for these classes through the four-year planning and course registration process.
Articulation refers to the process of linking two or more educational systems. In this case, it provides for linking of WHS high school courses to Front Range Community College courses, allowing you to take "articulated" high school classes at your high school and earn college credit for those courses. These credits can ONLY be used at Front Range Community College. To learn more, click here.
Students who are interested in participating in concurrent enrollment should contact their counselor or the Future Center at least one semester before they would like to enroll in college classes to discuss their options.
