This program is designed for students wanting to complete a two-year AAS Degree in Automotive Technology and enter the workforce. Students explore all facets of automobile systems repair and maintenance. This AAS degree provides students with entry-level technical skills to test, diagnose, and repair the complex mechanical, chemical, and electronic equipment found in today’s automobiles. This includes an understanding of the principles associated with engines, drive trains, brakes and alignment, and fuel and emission controls. Our program is ASE and NATEF certified. Students may complete a certificate, enter the workforce with automobile repair shops or dealers, and then return any time to complete the program or to upgrade specific skills.
Automotive Technology classes are held at the FRCC Westminster campus.
Special Considerations about this program/class: This class is a full-time program. Classes are either offered during the school day or evening.
Prerequisite: Application and district approval. Students need to be on-track to graduate and have strong attendance. Students need to meet FRCC testing requirement (if applicable).
