ProStart students also have an opportunity to participate in the Annual ProStart® Student Invitational & Sysco Denver Hospitality Cup Competition, both statewide cooking competitions! This two-year course is perfect for students who want to own their own business, want a career that allows them to travel the world and learn about new cultures, want to pursue a great job and a successful career in the restaurant, hospitality, or lodging industry.
This is a TWO-YEAR, DOUBLE-BLOCKED course!
Students take a bus to Hidden Lake High School for the use of a full kitchen and professional equipment.
This annual event showcases more than 250 ProStart® students from 30 Colorado high schools who demonstrate a mastery of culinary and academic skills as they compete in the Annual ProStart® Student Invitational & Sysco Denver Hospitality Cup Competition. Teams compete for more than $850,000 in scholarships through both a Culinary Competition and Hospitality Management Competition. The school that accumulates the most points at the end of the contest will take home the “Sysco Denver Hospitality Cup.” The winning teams from the state competition will represent Colorado ProStart® at the National ProStart® Invitational event with the opportunity to win even more scholarships.
