Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Systems

Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Systems prepares students for careers in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC fields by introducing the physical principles and foundational skills essential to these trades. Students will learn to follow safety protocols, use tools to perform basic operations with electrical circuits, and apply fundamental concepts such as Ohm’s Law. They will also develop skills in measuring, cutting, and welding plastic, copper, and PEX plumbing, as well as solving practical HVAC, electrical, and plumbing problems using applied mathematics. The course includes an introduction to wood framing, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of its role in supporting these systems. Additionally, students will gain proficiency in construction safety, math, and the use of common hand and power tools, while also developing communication and workplace skills to support long-term success in the skilled trades.
