We provide a carefully managed Wi-Fi network to meet the internet needs of all attendees. To minimise interference and ensure a stable connection, deploying any unauthorized Wi-Fi networks at our event without explicit permission is strictly forbidden and against our T&Cs.
No Unauthorized Wi-Fi: Setting up personal hotspots, rogue networks, or using external network hardware (such as routers, switches, access points, mobile hotspots, MiFi devices, etc.) is not allowed. These actions violate our terms and conditions and can disrupt the network for everyone.
Monitoring: The venue will be actively monitored for unauthorized devices such as personal hotspots, rogue networks, or any external network hardware. Any detected will be immediately disconnected.
Venue Wi-Fi
The official event Wi-Fi network is available throughout the venue for all attendees. It is designed to support basic internet activities, such as email, browsing, instant messaging, and light video streaming.

Wi-Fi 5 & Wi-Fi 6: Our network supports both the Wi-Fi 5 technology and the new Wi-Fi 6 technology, which provides faster speeds, better performance in crowded environments, and improved energy efficiency. This ensures a robust and reliable internet experience throughout the event. Please note that Wi-Fi 6 is only supported by newer devices, so ensure your hardware is compatible to take full advantage of these benefits.
Frequency: Our Wi-Fi 5 operates on the 5 GHz bands and Wi-Fi 6 operates on the 6 GHz bands. Some older devices may not support these frequencies, so please check your hardware specifications.
Usage: Best suited for lightweight internet use (e.g., emails, browsing, low-definition video streaming at 1080p).
Network Congestion: During peak times, you may experience slower speeds due to high demand.
Web Summit can provide a single ethernet cable, with internet connectivity for your booth/stand activation at no cost. You have the option to opt in or out via your Onboarding Survey sent by your Partner Success Manager as well as the survey linked below. Choosing to opt out means that there will be no cable provided at your booth/stand.
If you choose to opt in for the cable and additional ethernet points are required, these can be purchased from our Web Summit partner store, upon completion of your network survey. Please complete the survey providing details of your booth activation’s connectivity requirements.
If you choose to opt-in for a cable at your booth, please review the following terms to ensure support for your devices:

If your activation requires a more complex network or additional connectivity, please complete the network connectivity survey. A member of our network team will evaluate the information provided and then contact you to discuss the best options available.
Ideal for basic internet use, such as browsing, emailing, and light video streaming. Supports both Wi-Fi 5 and the new Wi-Fi 6 for enhanced performance. Note that speeds may vary during high-traffic periods.
Provides more stable and reliable internet access, suitable for activities requiring consistent bandwidth, such as video streaming. The maximum speed by default is 10Mbps.
