Unit 6- Civil War- Now that we have concluded Westward Expansion and the entrance of the 19th Century- we look into how the creation of new states created sectionalism and division in our country. We discussed how money vs morality became the real cause of the civil war. We discussed the treatment of slaves and south's inability to see slaves as anything other than property. We discussed how each state added to the Union brought with it argument of slave state vs. free state. We learned about each item on the lists below and how they created the perfect storm for war in our country.
