Include your views on standardized testing and your plan to make growth on the 8th grade Reading EOG this year. Be creative in how you present this!
All EOG Prep Resources are on Mrs. Huffman's Reading subpage.
Sample Written EOG Philosophy:
I recognize that standardized testing is a part of my life. I also recognize that my scores are ONE very small part of who I am as an individual. I am defined my much, much more than my test scores. Even still, my attitude towards standardized testing reflects a HUGE part of who I am. If I go into the EOG, SAT (or any other test for that matter) with a negative attitude and decide NOT to do my best, I am putting my future at risk. I have to invest in myself in every decision I make, and trying by absolute BEST on the EOG is a perfect example of this. My main goal is not to care too much about my score, but instead to focus on GROWTH in all ways - testing included.
Part of my commitment to doing my BEST on the EOG, and maintaining a positive attitude about taking the test is my EOG Prep Plan. Mrs. Huffman has provided great resources for me to use to carry out my plan. Sticking to this plan every week will help me feel confident to take the EOGs and achieve growth.
Sample EOG Prep Plan:
I will use the resources provided (sample tests and test items and Read Theory) about 2 to 3 times a week. I will also read more magazines and articles online to improve my reading stamina.
