The Parents' Guide to Cub Scouts is a useful document to help you and your young person get ready for Cubs.
Every young person starts with a trial period of several weeks.
If moving up from Beavers they'll wear their Beaver uniform and pay subs. If joining Cubs direct, during their trial period they won't need to pay any subs, and can't wear uniform. Just wear casual clothing appropriate to the season and the weather, remembering that we could be outside if weather permits.
Towards the end of their trial period we'll be in touch suggesting a date for their investiture. For which your young person will need a Cub uniform.
6th Rugby will provide each young person a necker and a woggle (the woggle changes from Beavers to Cubs) for their investiture, plus their various badges. Our woggle recognises our link with and the support provided by Rugby United Reformed Church.
You can buy Cub uniform from the online Scout Store (see link below) with all profits going back to Scouting UK, and other outlets.
Note it's only the "Cub Scouts Uniform Sweatshirt" that is uniform along with necker and woggle.
Your young person will also need to decide which version of the Cub Scout Promise they want to make. The different versions are in the Parents' Guide, see link above. Don't forget to let Toad know which version they've picked.
At their investiture, they'll repeat their promise after Toad. I.e They don't need to learn it by heart.
And after their investiture they'll have joined the World wide family of over 50 million Scouts.
