Week 2

MANA

I know how I am feeling and use the MANA board and understand the expectations of the school.

We will achieve this by:

Following the school rules
Keeping our hands and feet to ourselves
Keeping to areas in the school we are allowed
Doing the right activity when we are asked, not just what we want to do
When online, we stay on the right website
Listening for what the teacher expects us to do
Learning about our MANA values
Knowing my colours on the MANA board and moving my peg
Noticing what colours others are so we know how they need our help

Success Indicator:

We will have a happy classroom
We won't get in trouble for doing the wrong thing
We can continue to improve and develop our reputation in a positive way
The class will run nice and smoothly and we will learn a lot and have fun doing it
We will get rewards both as individuals and as a class

Fruit - Term 1

We are learning about the jobs we have to do as seniors in 2025.

Each year there are two jobs that the Senior classes do for the whole school. It is showing Manaakitanga for the school. These jobs are:

Distributing fruit
Running the Sports shed.

In term 1, it is Kōtare's turn to do the fruit. We will do the fruit BEFORE 9am in the morning. We will now run through how to do it and what the expectations are.

In term 3 we will do the Sports shed.

Problems at school?

We are learning to determine the size of our problem and how to solve them.

Is our problem a big one? Or a small one? Do we need a teacher to help or are we old enough to sort out yourselves?

Are we trying to get someone else growled at, or are we trying to stop something that might get someone hurt? It's important to know, now you are old enough, what to do in what situation.

Each morning we will get our brains moving by learning and practicing small things. It will make us smarter!

Independent Work

We are practicing our maths skills independently when we have finished our assigned maths tasks.

TIMES TABLES GAMES ONLINE - complete all the activities (before you practice using the games). Get your certificate for ALL of the times tables. Practice until you can do it with your eyes closed! NO GAMES UNTIL YOU HAVE DONE ALL THE ACTIVITIES FOR ONE OF THE TIMES TABLES.
PROTOTEC - Start at a lower level to get your brains going, then go up to the next level to push yourself. Try to get at least 90% correct, keep on trying!
PRACTICE CHAMPS CARDS - Do one card for the day. Don't do the same card twice. Note: The QR codes do NOT work on these.
MATHS BUDDY - When you have finished your ACTIVE TASKS (must be done first) then try the Weekly Revision.
POLYMATH - Play by yourself! Choose home if the option comes up.
