**ALL work permits expire 5 days after the start of the school year. You must renew your work permit at the beginning of the year in order to remain eligible to work.
General Instructions:
To obtain a work permit, you must complete a Work Permit Application Form, found here. Once you, your parent, and employer have completed the form, submit it in-person in the College & Career Center or via email at: mvhscollegeandcareer@vistausd.org
Where can I get a Work Permit Application Form?
During the School Year
Applications are available for pick up in the College & Career Center, Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
During the Summer
Students who needs to submit a work permit application after June 20 will need to visit the VUSD Office of Student Services. They will process your permit there.

How long does it take to get my application processed after I turn it in?
During the school year, it may take up to 2 days to process your application. During the summer it can take 1-2 days.
What are the requirements for me to be eligible for a Work Permit?
Students must earn a minimum of a 2.0 GPA throughout every grading period and may not have more than 10 unexcused absences to maintain eligibility. If a student's GPA drops below a 2.0 or they have more than 10 unexcused absences, their work permit will be rescinded and their employer will be notified.
