Dual Enrollment courses are college courses offered at MVHS through a partnership with a local college. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit while completing their high school coursework.

Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent Enrollment
Take a college class online or at the college while attending MVHS.
Concurrent Enrollment allows you to enroll in a college course outside of your regular MVHS classes, such as through MiraCosta, Palomar, or another college. You earn college credit, but the course does not automatically count toward MVHS graduation requirements.

Have a conversation with your assigned school counselor.
Complete and submit the Off-Campus Course Approval Form to your assigned school counselor before registering for any classes. It is important to verify your course selection(s).

In this course, students learn and apply foundational rhetorical theories and techniques of public speaking in a multicultural democratic society. Students discover, develop, and critically analyze ideas in public discourse through research, reasoning, organization, composition, delivery to a live audience and evaluation of various types of speeches, including informative and persuasive speeches. Emphasis will be placed on the collection, analysis, and organization of material appropriate to typical public address situations, as well as on the linguistic, vocal, and physical skills needed for effective delivery.
