Step 3: Academic Pathway Planning - Here's the deal:

• Academic Planning is Crucial: Academic Pathway Planning is a student led, four year work-in-process that ALL STUDENTS use for their course selections. Students must use the MVHS Academic Pathway Planner to ensure accurate and appropriate course selections.

• Aeries Student Portal Timeline: Academic Plan course entry opens in April and closes before master schedule building.

• Master Schedule Considerations: Student selections shape next year’s schedule. All required courses will have space, but Honors, AP, and electives are not guaranteed.

• Automated Balancing: The system balances courses between Fall and Spring, and teacher or period preferences are not selectable.

• Grade-Level Prioritization: Some students may be bumped from classes through an automated process.

• Alternate Courses Matter: If your chosen course is full, alternates from your Academic Plan will be used.

• Schedule Changes: Requests must be submitted online and require administrative approval. Limited justifications apply.

• Waitlists & Deadlines: Prompt responses are required for waitlisted courses, and deadlines are strictly enforced.

• No Virtual Learning: MVHS only offers in-person learning—no independent study or online alternatives.
