Who should enroll?
Students interested in the available classes can enroll, and also access the FREE tutoring, library, and other support services available to all Palomar College students.
What is the cost of Dual Enrollment?
Courses, textbooks, and materials are FREE to Dual Enrollment students.
Is there an additional test or requirements to earn credit, like AP classes?
Students earn college credit as long as they pass the course with a C or higher. There is no additional test a student has to take outside of the college coursework.

In this course, students learn and apply foundational rhetorical theories and techniques of public speaking in a multicultural democratic society. Students discover, develop, and critically analyze ideas in public discourse through research, reasoning, organization, composition, delivery to a live audience and evaluation of various types of speeches, including informative and persuasive speeches. Emphasis will be placed on the collection, analysis, and organization of material appropriate to typical public address situations, as well as on the linguistic, vocal, and physical skills needed for effective delivery.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Web Programing, Machine Learning or Computer Gaming
This course is offered through Dual Enrollment, and you will be earning college credits.
Units: 3
Introduces the core areas in the field of cybersecurity including but not limited to cyber attacks, cyber defense, risk, vulnerabilities, threats, CIA, DoS, DDoS, social engineering (e.g., phishing, hacking), principles of secure design, and defensive coding, security measures and mitigation in the computer system and network. Covers cybersecurity law and ethics. Provides students with tools and skills in reporting on current events in cybersecurity.
Enrollment Restrictions: Enrollment is restricted to students in the Cybersecurity major.
