Academic Pathway Planning - Additional Infomation:
Academic Pathway Planning is a student led, four year work-in-process that ALL STUDENTS use for their course selections.
Use of the hard copy MVHS Academic Pathway Planner is essential for accuracy and proper course selections.
Academic Plan in Aeries Student Portal OPENS for entries after Fall Term deadlines and CLOSES in early February for scheduling.
Next year's Master Schedule is designed around these student selections; there are always some limits in capacity.
Required courses will have enough seats for all students; however, we cannot guarantee availability in all Honors, AP, & electives.
Master Schedule automatically balances courses between Fall and Spring Terms; students should always verify at the start of the year.
Teacher, period in the day, and Fall or Spring Term are not selectable options.
Master Scheduling prioritizes course offerings by grade level. Being bumped is a random, automated process.
Replacement courses (alternates) are pulled from your future Aeries Academic Plan listings; selections should always be of genuine interest.
Master Scheduling is completed by the end of the current school year. Deadlines are important; within them everyone has the same opportunity.
Change Request is by online form only, REQUIRES ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVAL, and opens after students have their actual eight courses (Fall Term).
Justifications include: Level Change / Rebalance Fall-Spring / Schedule Error / Other- (explain).
Approved start of year changes may impact Fall & Spring Terms and are limited by seat availability.
Waitlists are used for over-enrolled courses. Students must respond promptly if notified.
Deadlines are strictly adhered to and shown on our MVHS Counseling webpage.
Change Request Form closes after fall deadline, reopens for Spring Term in early December, and REQUIRES ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVAL.
MVHS is an in-person learning high school. We do not offer independent study or virtual options at this site.
