I chose WPI because the second I stepped on campus I knew I had found my home. I have met my lifelong friends here and been given opportunities I would not have had at any other school. The people I am surrounded by always support my ambitions both in the classroom and daily life. My favorite memories have occurred during my time here and I am excited to share my love for this school with others. Feel free to connect with me!

BS in Psychological Science

Psychology is the study of the entire range of human experience, thought, and behavior, from infancy until death, from the most abnormal behavior to the most mundane, from the behavior of neurons to the actions of societies and nations. Psychologists employ a wide variety of methods to understand behavior and to discover how best to improve performance, including controlled experiments on human subjects. WPI’s major in psychological science emphasizes empirical research in the areas of social and cognitive psychology as well as practical applications to the classroom, the courtroom, and other settings.

BS in Biology and Biotechnology

This major focuses on five major principles of life. An integrated and functional understanding of these concepts provides the foundation for biotechnology. In the Biology & Biotechnology curriculum, these concepts are exemplified and integrated across three major divisions of biology: Cellular and molecular biology, Biology of the organism, and Organisms in their environment.

MS in Neuroscience

The Neuroscience program offers graduate studies toward the M.S. degree. This program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in molecular, psychological, computational, quantitative and interdisciplinary approaches to neuroscience. Neuroscience is a critical and challenging area of human endeavor. The faculty involved in the program have a strong record of extramural funding and provide an excellent research-oriented environment. As a ‘Program’ in Neuroscience, faculty from departments across campus train our students and collaborate on research and projects. The program comprises four broadly defined areas: Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, Systems Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, and Psychological Science.

Undergraduate Research

SNAP Lab

In the SNAP Lab, we utilize psychological theories, brain imaging techniques (e.g., fMRI), and longitudinal modeling of behavior to better understand how human beings regulate their thoughts and emotions in light of the goals they are pursuing—with the broader aim of enhancing health and wellbeing.

SEED Lab

The SEED Lab studies health, health behaviors, and health equity from a biopsychosocial perspective. Our work explores the intersection of psychological factors (i.e. stress and health behaviors), biological factors (i.e. cortisol and inflammation), and social factors (i.e. stigma and discrimination), and the bidirectional – and even cyclical – relationships among these factors.

Campus Involvements

Alpha Xi Delta

Being in Greek Life was one of the best decsions I have made. I have gained life-long friends and girls that I consider my family. Although I have friends outside of my sorority, this bond has made me closer with them and there is no one else that I would want to spend my nights with.

Greek Life has also given me the opportunity to be involved in all types of leadership positions along with getting more involved on campus and meeting new people. The connections and networking opportunities that I have been able to be a part of are like no other.
