I chose WPI for its small campus feel, academic focus, and proximity to home. It reminded me of the small agricultural high school I called home. Even as a commuter student, I find ways to stay involved on campus both socially and professionally. If you have any questions about the transition to campus as a commuter or vocational student, or any of my involvements, feel free to reach out!
On Campus Involvement
Varsity Rowing
In high school, I played basketball, but I wanted to try something new. I walked on the Women's Varsity Rowing Team as a coxswain my freshman year and loved it. If you are a high school athlete looking to try something new next year, the rowing team is a great team to join!
As an Eagle Scout, I hoped to find a community here on campus similar to Scouting. Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-ed service fraternity based on Scouting's values, focused on service, leadership, and social opportunities. I recently joined the spring induction class, and I am excited for more opportunities to take my passion for service on campus!
Coming from a vocational school, I knew I wanted to get involved in a professional organization. Our Society of Fire Protection Engineers Student Chapter is a great way to connect with others sharing an interest in fire. During my freshman year, I joined the executive board as interim secretary and have loved it!
Other Involvement
This year, I am serving as a National Youth Representative for the American Dairy Goat Association.
I own a dairy farm in West Boylston, where I produce show and production quality dairy goats.
I am still involved in 4-H as a volunteer and FFA as a member pursuing my American Degree.
