Native to: Central and South America

  • Size: Big! 40 + feet (much taller in the tropics)
  • Sun: Full sun, tolerates heat and wind
  • Hardiness: 25 degrees
  • Water: Medium (2 times weekly during dry months)
  • Flowers: Yellow flowers in spring and summer
  • Attracts: Nectar eating creatures
  • Pests: None observed. The argentine ants don't like the stickiness of the new growth
  • Other Information: Conflicting data about growth rate, but the one in our garden is growing about 9 feet per year.

I got mine at Jungle Jacks in Vista, CA. The dude sells some very cool plants!
