Native to: Madagascar

  • Size: Grows up to 50 feet in the wild, about 25-30 in Southern California
  • Sun: Full to part sun (sensitive to frost)
  • Hardiness: to upper twenties, will burn below 32 degrees
  • Water: Medium (2 times weekly during dry months)
  • Flowers: Yellow and green flowers that turn into black fruit
  • Attracts: pollenating insects when blooming, birds and small mammals when fruiting
  • Pests: None observed, but can include mealybug, aphids, and scale.
  • Other Information: Threatened in it's native habitat, hates being transplanted, and is a stunning palm!
