Caryota Urens= Fishtail Palm and many others
Native to: Southeast Asia
- Size: Big! 40+ feet Some report close to 90 feet!
- Sun: Full sun, tolerates both summer heat and winter frost
- Hardiness: to around 25 degrees
- Water: Medium (2 times weekly during dry months)
- Flowers: white flowers
- Attracts: pollinators, birds
- Other Information: Seeds are a skin irritant! Monocarpic, so it will die after it flowers

I made the mistake of trimming a few roots when I dug a hole a few feet away for the palm. As a result, it went into flower and died. It took about 3 years to die.
