This variety is a clone that was originally collected by Paul Thomson. This plant is self-sterile so it needs a pollinator. It produces a sweet and delicious large 1.0 to 2.0-pound fruit. Stems are strong but will sunburn, though rarely sustain permanent damage. Like many of the Guatemalan varieties blooms early and produces plenty of fruit well into the late season. While its lack of sun tolerance and self-sterile properties are negative, the large, sweet, attractive fruit make it worth the trouble. To back this up, the fruit has an average brix rating of 18 with some of the larger fruit having a 20 rating. This variety was acquired from a grower in California.
