Our petition on Change.org has reached 500 people signing after just a few days. The residents of Underhill South are sending a clear message:
A controlled parking zone is not welcome or needed in our area, not even a trial or experimental zone.
Any extension will just pass the problem to the next street.
As we call on our elected councillors to respect the outcome of the engagement exercise and reject any attempt to impose a CPZ in Underhill we acknowledge statements made.
Cllr Roberts said:
"I have come across no local resident in favour of the proposed CPZ and all against the proposal when directly asked."
Cllr Beg said:
"I want to assure you that I am in agreement with you (and others) and support Underhill residents in that this CPZ is not needed and have been in discussions with Highways regarding this and will continue to oppose this."
Nevertheless, we need to keep hammering home the message that a CPZ will not be welcome in Underhill South - not an experimental zone, not a trial zone, not any parking zone. Anyone wanting to pass this message directly to councillors can email cllr.z.beg@barnet.gov.uk and cllr.t.roberts@barnet.gov.uk with subject: Underhill South CPZ to make clear what you are referencing and you can copy in contact@underhillresidents.uk
