Director of Environment

Data published in March 2026 shows that Barnet Council's executive director for environment has a salary greater than £150,000 per year.  That puts him in the top 1 or 2% of earners in the country, comparable to:

• Legal: Partners in mid-tier or "Silver Circle" law firms.

• Finance: Executive Directors or Vice Presidents at major investment banks.

• Technology: Senior Staff Engineers or Engineering Managers at "Big Tech" companies (FAANG).

• Corporate: Senior Vice Presidents (SVP) or C-suite executives in large SMEs or divisions of FTSE 100 companies.

• Medical: Senior NHS consultants with significant private practice income or high-level clinical leads. 

The Council's Head of Parking & Parking Enforcement  earns a salary in the region of £90,000 - £94,999.

The Council's Chief Executive, Executive Director Adults And Health, Executive Director - Strategy & Innovation, Executive Director of Assurance, Executive Director of Resources (S151), Executive Director Growth and Executive Director for Children and Families have higher salaries.

The Chief Executive is the only one at the Council earning in excess of £200,000 per year, putting her annual salary higher than the UK Prime Minister's.

These staff would pay £75 per month to park at Barnet Council's Colindale office,  whilst those earning below £80,000 would pay £41 per month.
