  • If the stent is placed, IV heparin

  • Ancef 2 mg IV

• Post-procedure (at discharge): 

  • Medrol Dose Pack

  • Ibuprofen

  • Plavix if stent

Sedation:

• Moderate sedation

• Right internal jugular vein

• Left common femoral vein

Sheaths:

• 6-F Ansel curved-tip sheath for right IJV access

• 9-F standard vascular sheath for common femoral vein access for IVUS

  • 5-F Cobra-1

• Common femoral vein access:

  • 5-F Cobra-1

  • 5-F Simmons

• 4-F Glide curved-tip catheter

• 3-F, 2.8-F microcatheters

• Lantern microcatheter for Penumbra coils

Balloon Catheter:

• For internal iliac venography: 

  • 5.5-F Fogarty balloon-occlusion catheter

Embolic Agents:

• Penumbra coils: 8 mm - 18 mm upsized to the vein diameters

• Lantern microcatheter for Penumbra coils

Sclerosing Agent:

• For internal iliac vein embolization:

  • 3% Sodium Tetradecyl Sulfate (STS)

  • 10-cc syringes

  • 3-way stopcocks
