It is a mistake to think that there is little about homosexual practice in the Bible. It is not just the passages that speak directly about homosexual practice. Passages that deal with the following subjects are all connected to this issue:
Sexual morality
Marriage
Honouring God (worship, pleasing God, obedience, etc)
Righteousness
Sin (temptation, conviction, submitting to or resisting temptation etc)
Judgement (Heaven and hell)
Jesus the Saviour
Faith
Repentance
Salvation, forgiveness, mercy, grace
Transformation (being, and living as, new people in Christ; dying to sin)
The Holy Spirit’s sanctifying work
Healing
The correct use of the scriptures and submission to the Word of God.
False teaching and false teachers
The Kingdom of God
Hope
And there are probably many more related topics.
There are, of course, many passages that speak about related topics such as:
Love (including love for enemies)
Care for the marginalised
Compassion
Forgiveness
Truth
Blessing those who persecute us
Evangelism and mission
Relationships within the church
Church discipline
Many of these will be addressed in the sections about the gospel and homosexuals, and how the church should relate to homosexuals.
In the meantime, let us consider a handful of particularly relevant passages:
Gods’ design at creation (and Jesus’ and Paul’s confirmation of that)
