“Well hello there little sorcerer. That other guy is so STIFF, he really needs to get out more, doesn’t he? Now don’t worry about all the ominous wordings, I won’t threaten you, you’re no threat to me, HAHA!
Now where shall I begin?
Oh yes. YOU. You are no true Darkness sorcerer. You think I want more of you running around like little mosquitoes? I don’t. But don’t worry. I’ve done you a favour. You see, ALL Darkness Sorcerers lose their funny little Factors when they become a Darkness Sorcerer, but because I’m so generous, you get to keep yours.
You are now a Partial Darkness Sorcerer. The best and worst of both worlds! Aren’t I just so great?
By my careful experimentation and infection of you, I’ve managed to keep Darkness from destroying your Factor and letting both coexist. I’d get into the details but I don’t care about you knowing. Just know that you have both Darkness and can harness speed magic! That’s more than what most of us can do.
Now now don’t get any ideas. You’re weaker than normal. You’ll find your magic is a bit more unstable than what you’re used to but that’s not MY problem.”
Your character is a sorcerer (or perhaps even a normal civilian) that has been infected with Darkness by a powerful Darkness Sorcerer (ping Fire in your ticket for planning and details). Perhaps they were an established sorcerer before catching the Darkness Sorcerer’s attention, or they were just an unfortunate passerby in the lottery of life.
No matter who they were, they are now a fascinating subject to the aforementioned Darkness Sorcerer that wishes to see how they behave and live as a Partial Darkness Sorcerer.
Be careful. Your character is not alone and they are being watched by forces greater than themself… And they are not the only Darkness Sorcerer wandering in the world of the Interlude.
Your character follows the same Sorcery Ability as outlined in the Darkness tab:
These follow the same slot and spell point total as normal!
Novice sorcery: 4 slots, 6 spell points and 8 Charge Points
Adept sorcery: 5 slots, 12 spell points and 12 Charge Points
Expert sorcery: 6 spell slots, 17 spell points and 17 Charge Points
Master sorcery: 7 spell slots, 22 spell points and 22 Charge Points
Archsorcerer: 8 spell slots, 25 spell points and 26 Charge Points
All Sorcery and Other Gifts are still applicable to Darkness Sorcerers!
But your character possesses their Factor, allowing them to harness speed magic like a normal sorcerer character. Speed magic will still cost Charge Points, rather than take spell stress as the Charge mitigates spell stress entirely.
Spells that have the option to increase stress for more spell potency DO NOT APPLY to Darkness sorcerers. These spells, such as Destructive Blast, Destructive Explosion, Regeneration, etc, will ALWAYS BE AT THEIR WEAKEST every time they are cast.
As a Partial Darkness Sorcerer, their magic is much more unstable to balance out the advantages of the preserved Factor. On EVERY magical action, including casting spells, creating warps or programs, etc, a d6 will be rolled. On a 1, their magical action will FAIL. This failed action will still take up Charge Points.
Only warps that cost 3+ points can be detected if they fail. Programming that fails will ALWAYS be detected.
This roll will not apply to already made programs.
Your sorcerer character will follow the typical sorcerer level up rewards, but instead of stress points, they will gain charge points to increase their Charge Pool.
Your partial sorcerer will be privy to a special quest that may increase their Charge Pool. These quests will be able to be submitted as a bonus quest every month.
Quest: Harnessing your power
