"Do you feel new life breathing through your muscles? Activity in your long-gone brain? Do you seem happy to be alive but realise there's something odd about it? Was it always like that?
Are you truly still you?
You may be Cursed...Cursed, by Darkness."
"Slow down in your freshly resuscitated mind and body, allow yourself to acclimate to your rebuilt soul and spirit. We have some things to go over.
You've been revived with Darkness. What is that? That's of little concern to you right now. What matters is what might be lingering from your revival. Darkness is not typical magic, and yours is no typical revival.
Your life has been restored very intentionally by an intelligent, questioningly-meaning sorcerer, for one reason or another. It is no accident. But even the greatest sorcerers may not be perfect or experienced. There may be some...adverse side-effects within you."
Darkness Cursed characters need to be revived, either in backstory or in RP by a pre-existing Darkness Sorcerer or Partial Darkness Sorcerer. There will not be exceptions to this rule as Darkness Sorcerers are supposed to be extremely powerful and rare.
Options for potential Darkness Sorcerers:
(Him), available for the last 3 years. He can create moderately or very Cursed individuals depending on His intent…
Akira, available for the last 2 years. She can create very Cursed individuals due to her inexperience and lack of power
Philip Wright, ping and ask @Fyreablaze for details! Please do not pressure them to perform a revival
Luka Solis, available for the last 100 years or so. He can create very stable Cursed individuals due to his experience. Those revived by him have the option of having minimal Curse effects. Ping @firedergen for info!
???
Very Cursed individuals may have up to 3 potent and 2 minimal effects, or 2 potent and 4 minimal effects.
Moderately Cursed individuals may have up to 2 potent and 2 minimal effects, or 1 potent and 3 minimal effects.
Stable Cursed individuals may have 1 potent or 1 minimal effect, or 2 minimal effects.
Backstory slots and in-RP slots are limited. However, for your character to be revived in RP, certain conditions must be met:
Your character must know a Darkness Sorcerer or be able to come into contact with a Darkness Sorcerer that will perform their revival. (Him), as an option, is rather versatile and is willing to make deals, if your character can offer something meaningful…Or He may decide to revive out of spite and torment.
Your character must be an accepted character in the Interlude for at least 6 months before a revival plot is planned.
Being revived and then becoming Darkness Cursed must align with the character’s arc and growth in RP.
Requires plotting with admins for your character’s plot, revival viability and curse effects.
Please use and fill out the following template when submitting your proposal for a Darkness Cursed character that is cursed in-RP!
How long has your character been accepted for?: x
Why/how do you want your character to become Darkness cursed?:
Which Darkness sorcerer would you choose to curse your character?:
Why would your chosen Darkness sorcerer perform a revival on your character? How have/how will your character come into contact with them?:
What will an IRP revival plot accomplish for your character? Why do you think they are well fit for a revival? What would this experience do to further their development?:
What revival effects are you interested in applying to your character?:
How long has your character been accepted for?: 7 months
Why/how do you want your character to become Darkness cursed?: Will take place during the Marred Finale Event but only if Marred’s spell succeeds and Luke’s consciousness is transferred into Lucas’s dying body. Lucas’s body can be restored to a livable state for Luke to inhabit in the event that Marred succeeds.
Which Darkness sorcerer would you choose to curse your character?: Steven Shadow (Him)
Why would your chosen Darkness sorcerer perform a revival on your character? How have/how will your character come into contact with them?: Luke has prior connections to Steven via a deal established within his backstory and further more recent contact within roleplay where they have had both negative and positive interactions. Steven can preserve His still-unfulfilled deal with Luke by reviving him, rather than allowing him to permanently die. It may make Luke and Akira more easily convinced by Him in the future by building trust and a sense of indebtment.
What will an IRP revival plot accomplish for your character? Why do you think they are well fit for a revival? What would this experience do to further their development?: Furthers Luke’s worry about not fitting into and not living up to the standards of the Order by further isolating him from his peers with an experience that nobody can really understand. Will encourage interaction with those he is close to when he has to confront any negative side effects that his revival causes him to experience. Mild changes to his memories when he’s previously boasted about remembering things nearly perfectly will be an interesting angle to explore.
What revival effects are you interested in applying to your character?: Mismatched memories, glitching magical effects, minor physical effect (hotter scales)
"Like all Curses known to sorcery, Darkness Cursed is no exception. Your life is now permanently hindered from your unique circumstances. Feel free to blame the sorcerer that brought you back to life, I'm sure they care a lot.
One more thing to consider is the experience and the behaviour of the one who has revived you. You may be victim to various effects of your revival, from empty patches in your memory to...what my associate may refer to as 'Figure-isms' - with yourself becoming a partial Figure - part Darkness golem, with inhuman Darkness features. These features are not limited to arms and legs made of Darkness as a crude attempt for the Darkness to restore your body, but also tendrils and the like from even poorer programs.
Or you may be fortunate that your revivor may be competent in their programming and you may have little to no visible effects from your revival, besides being alive of course.
Do not expect potent effects with restorative warps from only a near-death state, but you may still gain a Darkness limb or two if you're missing them.
The most striking effects come from a full revival from death - the worse your body, the worse your effects may be."
Any character, besides Darkness Sorcerers, may become Darkness Cursed and may be fully restored and revived to a living, playable state, including any death in RP, as long as the revival is reasonable…
Be sure to consider when and where a potential Darkness Sorcerer may be when pondering a revival. A Darkness Sorcerer with little to no connection, or not even being in the same area as the dead character will not be available to revive them. There may be exceptions but heavily forced revivals with no justifications will not be endorsed. There must be a reason for a Darkness Sorcerer to bring your character back to life.
Characters must have at least the one negative effect per positive effect gained from Darkness Cursed. But of course, negative effects can be unlimited, as long as the curse is reasonable. For example, possessing a Darkness Formation may be considered a positive effect but glitching is a negative effect.
Characters whose lives are restored from a near-death state (not dead) may be considered a minimal effect revival. Characters may only be inflicted with some or few curse effects, including:
1 or 2 limbs made of Darkness (if they are missing somehow). This may be accidental or intentional.
Glitching magic or superpowers, where abilities may randomly fail. This may only be accidental.
Random magical or Energy bursts where spells or superpowers are used at random. This may only be accidental.
Physical effects like increased or decreased endurance, lesser or increased fatigue and hunger, colder body temperatures, etc This may only be accidental.
Increased or decreased strength and speed (influencing bonuses to rolls). This may only be accidental.
‘Eating’ magical attacks inflicted on the character if they have patches/limbs made of Darkness. This may be accidental or intentional.
Lower body temperature and reduced fatigue or appetite

Characters that have been completed revived from death, including from an unrecoverable or destroyed body, may be inflicted with the worst curse effects, including:
Mismatched or missing memories
Significant body mass made of Darkness
Increased or decreased magical or superpower potential…at a cost of requiring to devour with their Darkness (this does not allow them control over their Darkness like a Darkness Sorcerer; the Darkness Sorcerer will need to program their Darkness to be able to devour things)
Tendrils, wings or other Darkness formations (characters are limited to 1 formation; a pair of wings count as 1 formation)
Strange magical effects

Limbs and patches of Darkness covering a body will have its own intricacies. This Darkness will mimic the functions of regular muscle, but keep qualities of Darkness itself.
Darkness is slightly resistant to physical damage, but also slightly weak to magic or Energy based attacks. Cuts, done either by a strong physical attack or magical, may splatter Darkness from the wound and leave an incision; blunt weaponry can leave dents; magical weapons can slice off Darkness limbs. And in all cases, any Darkness splatters will return to the Darkness Cursed individual or the nearest Darkness Sorcerer.
Those with Darkness limbs/patches will need to devour matter and magic to keep their limbs functional and keep the shape consistent. They can do this by pushing objects into their Darkness with the intention to devour and amalgamate it, or similarly with magic that hasn’t been cast into a spell. The Darkness Cursed cannot manipulate Darkness further than this, and they cannot consume more than is needed to restore their limbs and patches; so Darkness Cursed individuals cannot start to devour worlds indiscriminately as though they are a Darkness Sorcerer.
Darkness limbs can feel touch as normal, but not pain, except from contact with Lightness magic that will feel like potent ‘burns’ to the Darkness Cursed.
Despite this, if Darkness rests in between two completely normal flesh-limbs, it will still transmit pain from the flesh limbs as normal.
