Without the Wilds, there would be no Timberhold. The forests were threatened once before, and future Crowns have forever sworn that the safety and longevity of the land comes before their own lives.
The Valley can give just as much as it can take. Do not hunt for sport, do not waste materials. To do so is a direct disrespect of the Valley and Kairos.
When signs from the Gods appear throughout the Wilds, Timbers should take extreme care to listen. The War Wood and Ruven Lake are prime examples of the Gods' wrath, and Timbers should do everything in their power to not anger them to these points again.
A cautionary phrase to always stay vigilant around outsiders. Timbers should never attempt to make further connection with wilts than what is absolutely necessary for their own and the Wilds' protection, less they begin to wilt themselves.
Even when everything seems bleak, when the world feels like its crumbling, Timbers must remember that time will heal. A burnt forest may seem as though it will never recover, but over time, one can see that new life begins to form. Just the same, Timberhold will persevere through any threat, and come out stronger in the end. Time will heal.
When the Crown speaks, all will listen. What the Crown commands, all will obey. Any who defy the Crown's words is subject to trial, and potentially exile.
The War Woods is considered holy ground. Exploring the War Wood without express permission of the Crown is punishable by exile.
The bodies of fallen Valleyfolk are for the Valley, and the Valley alone. To consume the flesh of one is to be considered rot yourself, and will be subjected to death.
Timbers are not permitted to travel beyond Timberhold's borders, unless sent on a hunting or diplomatic mission, or for valid reason. Cedars are the only branch which may freely move in and out of the borders so they may investigate any threats that may be too close to the borders.
Heeding the warning of the War Woods, Timbers should exercise caution when sparring. To extract blood via fang or claw of an innocent is to defy the Gods. The only reason blood should be spilled is in self defense, or for the protection of the Wilds.
Intentionally causing harm upon another Timber is to cause harm upon the Wilds itself. Infighting is to be brought to a swift end, and the instigator will be subject to punishment equal to that of which they harmed the other Timber, including death if the other Timber fell at their teeth.
Any Timberholdian found to have mated with a wilt, or wishes to take one as their bounded, will be swiftly exiled, as well as any potential pups they have produced.
While one should always respect and heed the commands of those ranking above them, that does not give permission for those of higher ranking to mistreat or abuse those who rank below them. Without all ranks of Timberhold, there would be no Timberhold, and all should be treated with respect. Continued behavior like this will result in the abuser being stripped of their rank and titles.
Following the laws of Timberhold is best for ones own safety. They are set in place to protect Timbers and the Wilds. Breaking of any law will be punished swiftly and carefully with whatever the Crown or Thorns feels necessary.
To mention Tovin or Ruven's name is forbidden. Timbers found worshiping them are to be swiftly removed from the Wilds, by whatever means necessary. These have been the ways since the fire, and will continue to be....
Warning (Verbal/Physical) > Penance > Demotion/Suspension of Rank > Imprisonment/Trial > Exile
Note: not every crime will follow this order (it's mostly just a guide!)
breaking some laws may land you in more/less hot water than anticipated, and as always please submit a ticket before running with law-breaking plots!
