Sprint 5

Overall Goal: Functioning Prototype 75% Completion Goal

November 14th - 22nd

Gift of Failure

The GIFT of failure is powerful…it challenges us to rework, unlearn, relearn…it demands we ask new questions…DIFFERENT questions…we gather information, seek new experts and begin the process of reconfiguring/redesigning again…

Notice. Be Present. Be Curious. When our SS have the opportunity to DEFEND their learning, they articulate and illustrate with confidence. Your genuine interest says “I believe in you” “you are capable” - Thank You

GUARDRAILS vs. BARRIERS…Systems that provide GUARDRAILS allow students to discover, question, & wrestle within (with supports)…this structure honors THINKING, INGENUITY & CREATIVITY…this IS Future Ready

Listen more, talk less…OPEN minds can SEE potential, possibilities, & DEVELOP new conditions & constructs…this kind of human work is respectful, it doesn’t underestimate, and it honors the capability and contribution of each individual…it moves IDEAS and THINKING forward…

Lab 3 - Process of Failure

Our final call with Steven Smith. This session includes some project pitches for those who were not able to do so in the previous session, a discussion on the importance of failure and how to deal, and finally some final questions for feedback on projects.

Words of a Wise Man

“The challenge in doing anything worth doing is being able to accept failure & use that failure to move forward.” Words of a wise man as our Ss work through the iterations of their prototypes.
