Bootcamp Session 1
Slidedeck For Project Launch
Access to slidedeck to use with students to prep for Project Launch
Project Launch Recording
This is the recording with Steven Smith who helped us launch the project officially by increasing engagement, developing inquiry, and to help us better understand all the ideas to ponder and process as we begin to identify a problem of interest to our learning.
Educator Model Notetaking
Classroom educator models her thinking during the project so we can intentional teach how to think and process our learning. This takes time, but in the early stages modeling is one of the best ways to visually help students see the thinking come alive.
Prep For Next Session
Topics we need to explore before we meet with NASA again. This will help with conversation design when students are not only equipped with knowledge, but inquiry to dive deeper into the learning.
Inquiry Spreads
Long line of students wanting to ask questions not just in our space, but online in all the other classrooms as well. Once we model asking questions, leaning into being okay not knowing all the things students will open up their minds to wanting to learn more.
Conversation Design
Planning the early stages on how to not just ask questions, but how to listen. This is just the beginning....starting with confidence to share ideas of what we don't know.....yet.
Student Notes
One example of how students capture their learning. It needs to make sense to them!
Curiosity
Today we continue to build our resume conversations & curiosities with EXPERT @STEM_BowTie…we build background & create questions around what it takes to survive in three different habitats…Moon, Mars, or in transit…
Worthy Work
Worthy work, enhancing current expectations & creating meaningful experiences for kids…diving into deeper thinking & authentic work, providing opportunities for student agency & infusing tech w/ purpose is the foundation for our work #value&believe #4shifts #NASA #forwhatforwhy
Collaboration
We’re joining NASA & classrooms near & far as we explore systems for SURVIVAL…SS had the opportunity to ask EXPERT @STEM_BowTie questions & learn about potential problems in three different habits- Moon, Mars, or in Transit as space exploration continues to push forward
