I thought I'd restart with something unfairly underrated.
This is a German sci-fi show. I usually like complex stuff with deep and intricate messages. This doesn't have any of that, but I still believe it to be one of the BEST sci-fi shows that exist.
The show doesn't have any deep meanings if that's what you're looking for. It's a true to heart tribute to the sci-fi genre. As a good metric, if you enjoy Christopher Nolan movies, then this is DEFINITELY a must watch.
Get your notebook out, though. 3 seasons, details in season 1 only make sense after season 3. The show could NOT be more convoluted. Basically, weird stuff happens after a kid goes missing in a small town. Some events from a long time ago begin to repeat, and the story only becomes more convoluted.
Dark often takes its time developing the story and characters, and for good reason. The bigger issue would be that the show is very unfriendly to viewers who aren't in for a complicated sci-fi. So you either love it or you don't. Either way, you'll be quite dazed.
The acting is amazing. I absolutely loved the perfect cast. You'll understand why I'm mentioning the casting after around 2 seasons. And so is the music. Everything about this show fits perfectly. The cinematography is just beautiful.
I loved every minute of the show. Something happens in every episode, the story is as unbelievable as it can be, and it has you constantly asking questions. Everytime you get an answer, 2 more questions pop up.
Season 1 was a great opening, season 2 was a masterpiece, and season 3 was as good an ending as it could have been. Overall, a brilliant show. I wish I could experience it again. But then again, I'm still trying to process what happened...
