I was very skeptical about this one. Vampire movies these days have not been great. But I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Not an amazing movie by any measure, but definitely a good one for time pass. 

It’s about Bud (Jamie Foxx), a guy who kills vampires for money. He teams up with an inexperienced guy, and the two just go on an adventure. It’s not a plot driven story by any means. It was solely for the action and a bit of humor. And it did a pretty good job with those. 

The movie really tried to introduce viewers to a whole world, filled with cowboy hunters, organizations, and vampire cults. They wanted to evoke a sense of mystery and adventure. But they didn’t really focus on these aspects enough to succeed in doing that. So it didn’t really deliver on that. 

But what the movie did do is deliver entertaining action. I assumed all the good scenes were used up in the trailer, but they’re not. Still, don’t watch the trailer. You might enjoy the movie better that way. 

All in all, a pretty entertaining movie for those looking for a time pass action comedy. Just don’t go in with high expectations of it focusing a lot on characters or being plot driven. Watch the movie for fun.
