The Old Guard

Seeing the trailer, I wasn't expecting much. I assumed this would be yet another sub par action movie with a plot that didn't take. I was surprised, since I actually enjoyed the movie. 

It's about a bunch of immortal warriors who basically just hide and do good stuff in secret. But then there's a villain who wants their powers. A relatively simple plot that was well executed. 

I usually like really complicated stories. So it was a good change. This is movie that really doesn't have anything other than some fun action. So just watch it for that, don't expect anything too big. 

The characters were interesting, and a bit more deep than average action movie characters. I like that. The acting was quite good, too. 

But I wish they had been more clear with the flashbacks, they made a few details unnecessarily confusing. Other than that, it's a good movie. 

Overall, it's an action movie that gives you more than you'll expect. Some scenes got pretty intense. The fight scenes were well choreographed. 

The concept is definitely interesting. I'm looking forward to part 2. The movie was well executed, and is great for anyone wanting to watch some action without much complexity or gore.
