"There is no time to waste. My name is Skye Hearth, the Sheriff for the Town of Solara Veil. It's dangerous out there... on the streets and out in the Wastes.
Think you can help me wrangle up some criminals?"
The Sunswept Wastes is a very dangerous region, what with the intense weather, feral Pokémon, and last but not least Outlaws who have little regard for the law, known as Threats and Bounties. With this, the Sheriff's Office is always looking for brave folks who'd willingly help their community and put their well-beings on the line to help keep Solara Veil safe for all Solarans!
As the town's protectors, Deputies patrol in and around the walls of Solara Veil and are keeping a keen eye out for for Threats. These lawbreaking lowlifes, such as Thieves, like to cause trouble for the townsfolk if it means they steal some Coins or goods, such as during an average day, when Solarans are distracted with an ongoing Holiday or Festival, or when a particular Hazard has everyone's attention.
As Deputies become more experienced with their jobs, they advance in rank, which enables them to apprehend even more dangerous Thieves and earn higher compensation. Thieves who are particularly wanted may earn a Deputy a hefty bonus, but with a higher risk of failure.
Deputies working alongside another Law Enforcer and/or their Loyal Companions increase the odds of successfully catching a Thief, but worker with another Deputy or more increases the chances of success even more!
Unlike Deputies, Bounty Hunters primarily work outside of town out on the Sunswept Wastes to hunt down their Bounties. The villains who dare to brave the hardships of the Wastes are generally harder to catch (and kill), but the can be pay the so worthwhile!
As Bounty Hunters become more experienced with their job, they advance in Ranking, which allows them to travel further from town into even more dangerous territory to hunt down Bandits. The more dangerous the area, the higher likelihood of encountering higher Bounties. Tracking down a Bounty has a higher risk of failure, but if successful... the payday makes up for the danger (at least that's the sell).
Bounty Hunters working alongside another Law Enforcer and/or their Loyal Companions increase the odds of successfully catching a Bandit.
Bounty Hunters require a Mount if they intend to travel far from Town. The Sheriff's Office does not provide Mounts (and is not liable for any Injury or loss of life).
As Law Enforcers become more skilled at their jobs, they advance in Ranking depending on how many successes they have under their belts. Higher Rankings means a Law Enforcer can handle more difficult Threats or Bounties, which reward them with more Coins.
Job difficulty is randomized, because a Law Enforcer never truly knows just how dangerous a Thief or Bandit will be. However, when going after Threats or Bounties, a Law Enforcer selects who they're going after and the difficulty will become clear after choosing.
Bounty Hunters can explore available locations in the Sunswept Wastes to find track down Bounties and Bandits. While Bounty Hunters are out in the Wastes, they aren't responsible for finding new locations. Some areas have certain requirements in order to explore there, such as having a Mount Companion!
Below are some of the current available locations that Bounty Hunters can travel to:
Note Exploring the Wastes can be dangerous, and even the most seasoned Bounty Hunters sometimes get Injured. Not only that, but Deputies can also get Injured in their attempts to hunt down criminals around Town. If an Injury ever befalls a Law Enforcer, be sure to check into the Clinic to patch up those wounds or lay low and recover!
Also! Being prepared can make all the different, so be sure to stock up Gear or some Food before taking on the next job!
Bounty Hunters regularly travel deep into the Sunswept Wastes to chase down Bandits. Due to this, it's recommend that they have a Mount companion by their sides to help track down and venture further across the Sunswept Wastelands.
For more information on Mounts, see here!
Any Outlaw (Thieves and Bandits) who is caught is then brought to the Prison for their crimes. Those who committed minor crimes will be punished accordingly, while more dangerous criminals will most likely face some Jail Time... or even face the gallows.
Low-level Thieves and Bandits who were caught for their petty crimes are sentenced to Community Service.
That means that they must volunteer to work in 3 different Occupations before being granted freedom (under the supervision of an available Deputy).
Higher-level Thieves and Bandits are sent to Prison when they are caught.
There's a required "cooldown" period, which depends on their level, or they can be bailed out of their Jail Time... at a cost.
Alternatively, Thieves and Bandits can be potentially broken out of Prison by other Thieves and Bandits.
Note NO PLAYER CHARACTERS CAN GET KILLED... (without permission from the Mod Team).
However, NPC Bandits can be executed as a part of their Bounty if their crimes are severe enough. Executed NPCs will no longer show up as an available Bounty, and are usually higher-levelled threats.
