Ah.... love! Whether it be platonic, sexual, romantic or for garlic bread, this sense of affection and attraction to another can strike anyone at anytime. The Solara Veil Town Council fully supports love in all its forms! Any Altermew can love any Altermew, as long as there's mutual consent, of course! And who knows! Maybe that spark that happened from a shared glance or kind greeting will develop into feelings. Then those feelings develop into close interactions. Those interactions lead to sex and sex can lead to Children! Oh! And Marriage can be in there too if Marriage is wanted!
In fact, there are ever town holidays to help encourage people to find love, and maybe even to start a family. The Town Council hopes that the town's population will grow and once again the laughter of children can fill the streets.
Then again, the love between friends can be as strong as the love shared between lovers. People need friends, too!

Okay, so two people meet and they feel some sort of spark... now what?
In order for relationships to be considered as "official" in the eyes of the group, participants need to submit Heart Events to the Discord. What's a Heart Event? They can be Friendship or Romantic in nature, meaning a Heart Event can be anything from a couple of friends having a beer at the saloon to a couple making love under the light of the full moon. Be creative! Have fun!
Note Solara Veil is an 18+ group, so depictions of sexual content can be considered a Heart Event as long as the proper Spoiler Tags are attached to them upon submitting them to the Discord server. Viewer discretion is advised.
Members can have an unlimited number of Friendship Heart Events with other characters. Members can choose themselves how many Heart Events make a Friend, or Best Friend, or whatever! After all, not every person makes friends as easy as others! Members are encouraged to make Friendship requirements their own.

Note When submitting a Heart Event via a Ticket, be sure to designate whether the Submission is a Solo Piece or a Collaboration and that it is a Heart Event, as Mods do keep track of Heart Events.

✦ Owned Characters must be a minimum of a Half Body depiction, with clean lines, and base colours.

Note Offhand mentions of a Character, or a one-line appearance, will NOT qualify as a substantial Cameo. The additional Character(s) taking part in the Heart Event scene and consent must have been given by the Character's Owner for their use.

Maybe a Friendship is developing into something more? Maybe it was love at first sight? Whatever the reason, Romance is seeping into hearts and that by itself can be a scary, confusing, or sticky mess. Romance comes in stages, because it grows and develops over time. How quickly Romance developments depends entirely on how fast Heart Events happen between people.

After at least 5 Heart Events happen between two people, a Fine Chain can be purchased from the Sunswept General Store. Fine Chains, made of either gold or silver, and cost 20 Coins each. Once a Fine Chain has been purchased, a person can craft a Pendant, which is a long-time tradition upheld in Solara Veil that acts as an expression of interest and Romance.
Gifting a Pendant to another person is meant to be an expression of interest, not a steadfast commitment. Pendants are customizable by the buyer, meaning that there is no set design for the Pendant. Effectively, every Pendant is unique! Be creative with what the Pendant looks like! Maybe the buyer customized it to reflect their relationship with the intended recipient or maybe it's as cheap as they could make it. Just try and keep the size of the Pendant to roughly the size of a standard coin. Once given, the individuals involved in the Pendant exchange are now considered to be in Romantic Relationship of some significance, but to what extent depends on the Solarans involved.
There is no penalty for gifting a Pendant to multiple Romance candidates, but that does imply that a person needs to purchase multiple Pendants. This means that one person can be "dating" or interested in multiple people at the same time. The recipient of the Pendants can be referred to as a Boyfriend, Girlfriend, significant other, beau, suitor, side piece or whatever! Terminologies and specifics are entirely up to members, as long as mutual consent is agreed upon.
However! Whether or not giving a Pendant to more than one person is "cheating"... is entirely up to the individual. Could spell for some fun drama if that's what members are looking for! Or not! After all, Triad (three people) Polyamory Relationships aren't unheard of in the Sunswept Wastes. However, Heart Events can only be between two people. If a Triad Polyamory Relationship is sought, then Heart Events must be completed between each participant.

A member sends a Purchase Request via the drop-down menu found in the Submit Mail channel on the Discord server for a Fine Chain, which costs 10 Coins. This will open a pop-up form to fill out.
In the form, the member must provide links to the 5 Heart Events shared between their character and the Fine Chain's eventual recipient.
Once the Heart Events have been verified, the purchase of the Fine Chain will be completed and the Fine Chain will appear in the member's Storage.
A Submission depicting the gifting of the Pendant is required for the Pendant to be given to the recipient. This could be two separate pieces, a collaboration, or a RP Record of at least 5,000 words that must be submitted to the Submit Channel of the Discord. To check what qualifies as a Submission, check the Submission page.
Wait for a mod to accept your Submission and confirm your character's gifting of the Pendants. The respective Pendants will appear in their new owner's Storage. Once you get that confirmation, congrats! Your characters are now in a Romantic Relationship!

Things have been going well between two or three people and love is burning stronger than ever. With such strong love, there might be some discussion or thoughts about taking the next step: Marriage. In order for a Marriage to begin, however, there needs to be a Proposal!
For a Proposal to take place, a few things must be done beforehand: mainly a Solaran must purchase a Proposal Ring from the Sunswept General Store.

The characters involved must have completed a Submission depicting the gifting or exchange of a Pendant that has been already submitted to the Discord server.
Character A must have completed 5 Heart Events with Character B after the gifting of a Pendant.
A member sends a Purchase Request via the drop-down menu found in the Submit Mail channel on the Discord server for a Proposal Ring, which costs 40 Coins. This will open a pop-up form to fill out.
In the form, the member must provide links to the 5 Heart Events shared between their character and the the Proposal Ring's recipient AND the link to the Pendant Submission.
Once the Heart Events and Pendant Submission have been verified, the purchase of the Proposal Ring will be completed and the Proposal Ring will appear in the member's Storage.
A Submission depicting the Proposal is required for the Proposal Ring to be given to the recipient. This could be two separate pieces, a collaboration, or a RP Record of at least 5,000 words that must be submitted to the Submit Channel of the Discord. All characters must have an additional 5 Heart Events post-Pendant with each character that is involved in the relationship, for a total of 15 Heart Events post-Pendant.

Congratulations! You are now Engaged! Now what? Well, a Wedding, of course! Prospective newlyweds have some decisions ahead of them before the day of their nuptials, but with a bit of work and planning their special day will surely go ahead as planned as perfectly as they envisioned.

Engaged couples and people in Triad Polyamorous Relationships have a few venues to choose from for their special day. The Town of Solara Veil offers 4 potential Wedding Venues for a fee of 20 Coins from each participant. Why? Well to assist with event decor and setup, of course, and to help add to the town's funds.
If couples or Triads wish for a more private ceremony on their own Property, then they are free to do so at no cost at all (aside from whatever they spend on wedding setup).

Engaged couples and people in Triad Polyamorous Relationships only have a couple of venue options if at least one of the lovebirds are an Outlaw currently living in the Bandit's Lair. Boss Levi charges a fee of 20 Coins from each participant. Why? Well because he can, and he will officiate, as well as help add to the lair's funds.
If couples or Triads wish to get married in Town or if they want a more private ceremony on their own Property, then they are free to do so at no cost at all (aside from whatever they spend on wedding setup), s long as one of the lovebirds currently reside in Town.

✧ How To Get Married

All members involved with the upcoming Marriage must agree to where the Wedding will take place before a Wedding Request.
One member must select Wedding from the drop-down menu found in the Submit Mail channel on Discord. This will open a pop-up form to fill out.
In the form, include the names of the Engaged characters and the usernames of the members involved. Example:
SushiSheik's Character, Bob Example, and dalobu's Character, Joe Noexist
In the form, provide links to the Pendant Submission, every Heart Event post-Pendant, and the Proposal Submission in the respective sections.
For couples, this should be at least 7 total Submissions.
For Triads, this should be at least 17 total Submissions.
Provide the links to the Storages of all the members involved. Make sure to separate the links so that they are clickable!
The member who sent the form must ask Mods to invite the remainder of the members involved with the Wedding into the Private Mail channel. This cna be done by asking a Mod to add the member(s) in.
Once all members have joined the Private Mail channel, they must do the following:
State the Wedding Venue that they have decided that their characters will be married at.
Choose the Wedding date.
Decide if the Wedding will be Private (only members involved) or Public - non-Wedding characters can join in on the Wedding festivities.
Decide how the Wedding will take place:
Collaboration - 2 Types
Only with the members involved
Community Piece -where a background is provided and other members can submit depictions of their characters enjoying the Wedding
Public Event RP - anyone can join at the allotted time
Private Event RP - only pre-selected members can join at allotted time
Once all the required information is provided, the chosen Wedding date will be recorded into the Town's Archives.
After the Wedding date passes, congratulations! Your characters are now Married!

The Wedding went off without a hitch (hopefully) and now you're hitched! Congratulations on your Marriage!
Now that you're married, you probably want to live in the same house as your spouse(s) - if you don't already live together, of course. For details, see the Cohabitation page.
Newlyweds can expect a Strange Wedding Gift from an estranged distant relative, or at least that's what the card says. Wonder what could be inside? Open it and find out!
Either then that... enjoy Married life! Whatever happens next is entirely up to you! Have fun!

In the case where a member leaves the group, either by choice or from a Banning, and they have a Married character, the Marriage will be considered Annulled. The remaining members who were involved in the Marriage in question can choose how the Annulment will affect their characters by discussing the situation with a mod, or mods, in private.
It's unfortunate when these situations occur, but they do happen sometimes. mods will offer as much support as we're able to.
