✧ Discord Rules & Guidelines

This Is An 18+ Group

Our server is 18+, meaning that strong languages and talk concerning sexual natures are allowed; however, slurs/derogatory terms are not allowed! Try to keep each topic within the appropriate channel to help avoid confusion. Member discretion is advised.

Behaviour

We expect everyone to be treated with respect and integrity. The mods do not tolerate bullying or being disrespectful towards anyone of any kind! Treat others how you would like to be treated! Also, the mods understand that life happens, but please, do not use the group as an outlet to gather sympathy and complain about uncomfortable real life situations. While this may sound harsh, someone spilling their woes can be awkward at times and kill the happy and chill vibes of the chat. Solara Veil is not the place to vent or solve deeply personal issues. If the need is there, take it to DMs.

Etiquette

Be not only considerate, but also try to avoid sensitive topics like politics, religion, graphic/illegal sexual issues, graphic violence and more. When sharing any content that involves nudity, excessive violence, (sexual) suggestive imagery or more, please redirect these to the NSFW channels with an appropriate spoiler tag (if required). 

Please refrain from advertising other groups in the server chats. If you wish to affiliate a group with Solara Veil please contact a mod to inquire.

Be Inclusive

Please be considerate and avoid "clique culture"! What's that? It can be when a recognizable circle of friends are really chatty with one another, all the time... to the point that others or newcomers feel uncomfortable interacting and/or interrupting the chat. The Mods want this group to be accepting and welcoming to everyone that comes into our Server. If you find yourself in a conversation that seemingly alienates others, be kind and move it to your DMs!

Blocking

While you may block other members on Discord if one feels uncomfortable, you cannot block a Mod as we may sometimes need to reach out to you.

Questions

If you have any questions that aren't answered on this page or the rest of the website, please head over to our Question Channel in the Discord and post your question. Mods will answer to the best that we are able. We ask that only Mods answer these questions in an effort to avoid confusion.  If your question is of a more sensitive/private nature, please feel free to submit a Private Question via the Submit Mail channel in the Discord server.

Quarterly Activity Checks

In regard to activity requirements expected of any member, the Solara Veil Mods don't ask for much. At the start of every new season (Spring: March 1st, Summer: June 1st, Autumn: September 1st, and Winter: December 1st), there will be a Quarterly Activity Check for a 1 Week Period, during which activity will be measured by members proving their activity with proof of art (visual or written) since the previous Activity Check or with a recent roleplay post.

We want the Solara Veil group to be fun and chill, with the only stress being the onslaught created upon members' own characters! HOWEVER we also expect a certain amount of interest and activity from Members, hence the Quarterly Activity Checks.

 NEW  This version of Activity Checks began in June 2025. 

✦ Due to the nature of the "first come, first served" of claiming Occupations, this is the main reason why evidence/proof of activity is being required for Activity Checks.

✦ If members fail to check-in, the mods will @/tag the member(s) specifically to offer one last chance (one day) for them to prove their activity, or claim a Hiatus. 

✦ If the member fails to check into an AC, their characters will be demoted from their claimed Occupation Slots to being Undecided. This is to ensure that sought-after Occupations are not being "frozen" by inactive Members. 

✦ The now-Undecided Member(s) must wait ONE WEEK minimum until they may reclaim their previous Occupation, if it is still open.

If a Hiatus is ever needed, just let a Mod know! We know that life happens and breaks are needed, we just ask to be notified and COMMUNICATED with! However, a Member cannot claim two last-minute consecutive Hiatuses during two Activity Checks (as in a Hiatus during one AC One Week Period and then another one during the NEXT AC One Week Period). Hiatuses can always be extended, but they cannot be used to "avoid" Activity Checks.

If a Member(s) fails to check into two consecutive Activity Checks, they will be demoted back to a Newcomer, their app(s) and member info will be removed from the Discord server, and their Storage locked and hidden.

Should a former member wish to return to the group following their demotion to Newcomer after failing to check into two Activity Checks, the member is welcome to do so as long as the following requirements are met:

• Any returning member can only return once - Mods do not wish to see people frequently failing to check in, then returning, and then repeating this process multiple times. If you want to be in the group, then be in the group, check into a Activity Check, and have fun!

• A one-week cooldown period - following the returning member's show of interest to rejoin the group, they will have to wait one week before they can reapply with their character.

✧ Roleplay Etiquette

English And Grammar

English is the main language of Solara Veil. While members are encouraged to incorporate the use of other languages appropriate for characters for cultural reasons, do not write entire paragraphs in non-English. On that note, grammar is your friend! Now, the mods aren't asking for perfect sentence structure 100% of the time, we simply ask for awareness: make sure sentences and paragraphs are legible and make sense.

Use Of AI Tools

Generative AI can learn from and mimic large amounts of data to create content such as text, images, music, videos, code, and  more, based on inputs or prompts. 

Solara Veil is open to Members using AI tools, such as Grammarly or ChatGPT, to be used to assist in spelling and grammar in short and/or specific instances. However, fully incorporating (i.e. copy/pasting) full sentences and/or paragraphs from AI tools, like ChatGPT, to be used and submitted into the group is a violation of the group's Rules. 

We want Members to create their own Art, which includes Writing, regardless of personal skill levels! So please, rely on your own mind, thoughts, inspiration, and hands when creating anything related to the Solara Veil group.

Communicate With RP Partners

No controlling other members or anyone's characters. No god-modding. Please respect your RP partner, their boundaries, and communicate. This counts for both private DMs and group/public RPs. 

Ask First / Respect Pairings

Use proper roleplay etiquette. You may only join established roleplays that have [OPEN] in the title. If you don't see this, please don't join in unannounced! 

Please respect established pairings/couples. This means, don't ask to break up a pairing strictly for drama, intrude on pairing-oriented RPs, or hound someone for romantic interactions. In the end, no pairing drama and keep it fun! Communication is always key!

Avoid Graphic Details

There should be no graphic/explicit sexual content, actions or graphic violence in public RP servers. Please move these to private DMs or avoid them altogether. If you're unsure as to what might be defined as graphic, contact a mod for further clarification concerning your situation/RP idea.

In-Character Violence & Killing

The time period of Solara Veil is modern post-apocalyptic. The world of Pokémon before Groudon's Reign was akin to the modern lifestyles as depicted in the Pokémon anime/movies/games. This means some futuristic technology, but very 21st century. However, it's been a couple centuries since Groudon was unleashed and now the world is more like the mid-to-late 1800s, with the town of Solara Veil being very "Wild West" inspired.

However! All members must keep in mind that's it's not actually the Wild West (we live in the 21st century after all)!

Guns exist in the Solara Veil universe. BUT! No members are allowed to have their characters kill... without permission that is. To explain, the mods understand that this is an "Old West" setting, but that does not mean characters are allowed to just shoot up a random person on the street! Solara Veil and the Sunswept Wastes are dangerous, but not that dangerous! 

Characters are allowed to have killed in their Histories if it makes sense! No serial killers, please and thanks! If two members agree that their characters will engage in a gunfight or battle, etc, this must be cleared by mods!

Free Love!

Just because the setting of Solara Veil is the "Wild West," we still exist in the modern day, and because it's the 21st century, homophobia or any form of intolerance WILL NOT be tolerated! 

Love is love and just because there's cowboys and gunslingers doesn't mean they judge! Since this is a universe where magic, Pokémon, and Berserkers exist, why can't it also be one where sexuality and orientation aren't questioned? 

Well, they're not, so have fun!

✧ Art Guidelines

Submissions

While you can submit and upload your art onto sites like DeviantArt, Toyhouse and more, remember to also submit your artwork and written work to our Submission Channel! Submitting to the Submission Channel is the only way for you to receive Coins in order to buy character slots and items from the Sunswept General Store. 

As an 18+ group, depictions of sexual content and violence are allowed, but there are limits! Submissions that contain any depictions of a sexual nature must be submitted to the NSFW Channel with the appropriate tags. All content containing sexual content MUST DEPICT CHARACTERS AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE! If there are any instances of minors and/or child pornography, the member in question will be immediately Banned. No ifs, ands, or buts!

As for violence, while depictions of some blood and mild fighting are allowed, torture, mutilations, life-threatening injuries, and gore are not allowed! Members are encouraged to content a mod if they are unsure about a possible submission.

Viewer discretion is advised.

Make Your Own

Tracing, thieving, using bases or Generative AI is not allowed in our group. While you can commission or ask someone else to draw your character's application art, please credit them when this occurs. Otherwise, everything else must be from your own creation. 

Take Your Time

Our group has simple reaction-based activity checks, as we understand that everyone can get busy. Mainly we ask is that you have fun!

✧ Breaking The Rules

Solara Veil follows a Three-Strike System. If any of the Rules are broken by a member, or if any insolence or harassment towards the mods and our fellow members continues after an initial warning, such actions will result in a permanent ban from both the server and the group.
