So! You have arrived to Solara Veil and are thinking about starting your very own Desert Ranch.
If so that's the case, then you'll need to claim a Property, since the Town is just giving them away to any person who intends to remain in Town. Once you have an Address, you'll need to visit the Architectural Guild in order to commission them to come to your Property and build up the necessary infrastructure for your Ranch.
A Ranch Commission costs 10 Coins, which may sound like a lot, but have no fear! You can earn those 10 Coins via Submissions!

Desert Ranching can be complicated, and when one first starts off in this lifestyle, it can overwhelming to take care of by yourself. However, there are a few things that your character can do to help improve their Ranch.
For starters, by renovating your Ranch, the building can be better constructed for future use, or expanded. To find details on how to renovate, go to the Architectural Guild for a quick commission!
Besides this, it's also important to have Livestock at your character's ranch to raise! Which is why your character can buy Livestock at the Desert Bloom Ranch. They can buy not only the breed and the sex of the Livestock, but also choose the size of the livestock as well!
Both Livestock and Ranch buildings can also experience danger and damages from any potential Hazards and Weather conditions that can occur monthly, so be sure to look up up at what Hazards can affect Ranchers!
Another thing to know is that there are ways to prevent Hazards from causing harm to Ranches. Such as owning a Draft Companions or buying special equipment from the Architectural Guild as well.
Note This section covers the Produce from the Milk, Wool & Cotton, Eggs and Honey & Beeswax Types of Livestock
To start earning Coins from your Milk, Wool & Cotton, Eggs or honey & Beeswax Livestock, they generally first need to be Evolved / old enough to begin making Produce! See below for the full list of Livestock and their Produce.

Pork and Fur Livestock are specially bred and raised for their Meat, Leather and Pelts. Unlike Regular Produce Livestock, Harvest-Only Produce Livestock can have their Produce collected at any Evolution Stage.
There is no required waiting time to harvest your Livestock.
When you're ready to harvest, send them over to the Crimson Butchery.
To collect Produce from your Livestock, the member needs to create a Submission that depicts the character obtaining the produce (whether it be milk, shearing, egg collection, etc.)
The member sends a Submission Request via the drop-down menu found in the Submit Mail channel on the Discord server. This will open a pop-up form to fill out.
In the form, the member must provide:
The submission of the character obtaining the produce.
A link to your Storage. Make sure the link is clickable!

In order to breed new Livestock, a Rancher must own an Adult Male and Female of the same species of Livestock.
Note The only exception is that the Male-only Tauros can only breed with the Female-only Miltank.
To Breed Livestock you simply need to create a Submission that depicts your character introducing your Male and Female Livestock to one another or the act of breeding itself. Have fun and be as creative as you want!
Note Solara Veil is an 18+ group, so depictions of Pokémon breeding can be considered a Breeding Submission, as long as the proper Spoiler Tags are attached to them upon submitting them to the Discord server. Viewer discretion is advised.

If a Rancher decides to sell their Livestock to the Butcher, they receive an amount of Coins depending on the Evolution of the Livestock. Pork and Fur Livestock can only go to the Butcher. Some Livestock produce Leather after Butchering, which a Rancher can sell to the General Store.

What's the difference between Ranchers and Hired Help? Well, Ranchers are the Solarans who pay for the Renovations and Equipment and Hired Help are the ones who... work! To be Hired Help is for the Solarans who want to do the daily work, without any of the fuss of managing or up-keeping a Ranch.
However! The more Hired Help a Ranch has, the more Coins earned for all those involved! Hard work and supporting Solara Veil's growing workforce does pay off!
For more information, see the Hired Help & Business Employees page!
