Liturgy of the Bell and Living Shadow is an invisible summoned creature used by both White Mage and Astrologian. Invisible creatures are used in many places in the game that most players don't realize for a variety of mechanics and effects. An example of an invisible creature created entirely of VFX is the elemental sprites. However, that does not prevent Liturgy/Earthly Star from being able to be replaced with a creature that had a visible solid model.
Liturgy/Earthly Star has several technical details that need to be considered when creating a replacement.
Liturgy/Earthly Star is classified as a terrestrial creature.
Liturgy/Earthly Star is not affected by /petsize commands.
Liturgy/Earthly Star has 1 to 1 scaling. Any creature placed on it will be their true size.
Liturgy/Earthly Star is a summon that is shared by two jobs and can only be replaced with a single creature. Consideration will need to be given to if you want the creature to replace both or just one, and if it might conflict with other mods that also edit this summon.
Liturgy/Earthly Star does not have a spawn animation, and its despawn animation is also shared with its ending activation animation
A Liturgy/Earthly Star replacement involves several basic parts
Model replacement
Skeleton replacement
Binder replacement
Idle Animation replacement
Spawn Animation, VFX, and SFX replacements
Liturgy of the Bell animation, VFX, and SFX replacements
Earthly Start animation, VFX, and SFX replacements
Separation if needed
In addition to the basic parts of the replacement, there are often other factors to consider that are more advanced edits
Scaling the model, skeleton, animations, and binders.
Liturgy/Earthly Star has no attachment settings, meaning if you want a creature wielding a weapon it will need to be added manually.
Some creatures, like Demi-humans, have multiple separate pieces that are combined by the game to give them variety. These parts have to be combined together to use as a replacement.
When thinking about what kind of creature you want to use for a replacement, think about some details about the creature.
Does it have any ability animations? Mounts do not usually have attack animation unless they are a variant or used in combat somewhere in the game. This can make creating a replacement far too difficult to execute well, which may result in me turning down the commission request.
Does the creature have particular ability animations that you already know of that you can see replacing particular abilities that the summon has?
$20
If you're still interested in commissioning a creature replacement, and want an idea of price, I've thought of a base price to set for a basic replacement of the basic parts indicated above.
If the creature you want to use for the replacement requires more advanced editing and work, a higher price might need to be negotiated based on the complexity.
