Training at SJO
The Zoul Auditorium is the location for COPE training events
Please park above the 3rd floor in the Cancer Center Parking Structure
Parking is free after 5pm and on weekends, COPE events are scheduled with this in mind - please park at the correct structure!
The Zoul Auditorium is located in the Basement of St. Joseph's Hospital across the street from the Parking Structure.
Training Schedule
Training Day 1 (Skills Practice):
Saturday November 4, 2023 (9-5 PM)
Call Time: 8:45 AM
Training Day 2 (Written and Practical Exam, Site Orientation/Tour):
Saturday November 11, 2023 (9-5 PM)
Call Time: 8:45 AM
Attendance to ALL Training Days is MANDATORY for your continuance in the program.
There are no makeup sessions for missed training days. Scholars are expected to attend all three training days in full and must not arrive late. In the event the Scholar knows they will be unable to attend any of the training days, he/she must reapply for another session.

Clearance documents submitted
E-learning modules completed
Appropriate training uniform
A healthy meal, please stay hydrated!
Training Modules:
Training modules MUST be completed prior to Training Day 1

Please complete modules and assessments, they are critical to our functions as Health Scholars!
You will learn about care team communication skills, hospital codes, patient experience, regulatory standards, the basics of U.S. health care and more.
Please note that it will take about 10-12 hours to complete modules, so it is advised that you begin as soon as possible.
Training Uniform Requirements:
Training Uniform
White polo shirt (plain white long sleeves underneath is acceptable for warmth), tucked into pants
Brown or Black belt
Khaki pants covering ankles (no cargo pants, no leggings)
Long hair must be tied back and well-groomed
Face mask
Please remember a black pen!
Training Uniform: Shoes
White closed-toed, non-canvas shoes are a required component of the Health Scholar uniform
Remember you will be walking around concrete hospital floors for extended periods of time! Wear inserts or shoes with comfortable support if needed.
A healthy start:
Training consists of long days interspersed with lectures, skill demonstrations, and practicing. We highly suggest you give yourself at least eight full hours of sleep the night before and eat a filling breakfast the morning of your onsite training. Bringing snacks and water is highly encouraged!
