What does the curriculum branch do?

The curriculum branch manages the different tracks that exist within the health scholars program (for more information regarding each specific track, see below), the rotational assignments for over 250 health scholars, and find new ways to enhance the educational experience for health scholars! For example, we are currently working on implementing a series of medical Spanish workshops to help health scholars better communicate with Spanish-speaking patients!

Department Preference Survey (DPS): These are distributed by the curriculum team in the beginning of the second month of each rotation. Health Scholars will rank their preference on their next upcoming rotation, and the curriculum team will do our best to match each scholar to their desired rotation!

Department Assignments (DA): The finalized departmental assignments for each rotation is sent out in the beginning of the third month of each rotation.

Accelerated-Track (Three-month):

Prior to each rotation, scholars will need to schedule department-specific trainings (DST) with the corresponding department coordinators and shadow current scholars to be more prepared for the floors.
