Tuberculosis Testing
Dear Health Scholars,
We have updated our TB testing policy to more accurately reflect St. Joseph Hospital employee policy.
New deadline for Tuberculosis Blood Testing:
Whichever criteria comes first for you:
1) Within 1 year of expiration of your last TB testing
2) Your birth Month
You do not need to physically submit your TB questionnaire/symptom surveys. You may upload them onto CORE and email sjoada@copehealthscholars.org after doing so to notify of your upload.
Note: TB Blood tests are required even if you have submitted a clear chest x-ray in the past
You have 2 options for TB Blood Testing:
1) Have it performed at St. Joseph Hospital at no cost to you
OR
2) Have it performed at a clinic/your primary care physician’s office

Failure to go during one of these sessions will result in having to get tested on your own.
**UPDATE: For uploading the "TB Blood Test" requirement on CORE if you had your test performed at St. Joseph, our Administration Team will upload the results once you had the test performed. You will not need to obtain a TB Q-Gold Confirmation Form Sample to upload onto CORE**

What to expect when getting tested at St. Joseph:
It is very simple and not intimidating whatsoever.
During the scheduled date and time, arrive to the training room across from the Muth Healing Garden and there will be a giant room. There will be a table in front of various dividers/curtains which is where they check you in line for TB testing using your screening form. If you forget your screening form, they have extras there. You then patiently wait until they call your name, draw your blood, and then send you off. Simple as that! You may even run into staff members that you recognize/recognize you!
