Questions regarding immunizations and clearance?

Subject Line: 2023A Clearance Questions

Applying for our next rotation? Please read below

Thank you for your interest.

Following your application acceptance and interview, there will be a stage of time where you need to submit your health immunization and other records at our clearance appointments to be compliant with hospital policy. Clearance may be seen as a time consuming process due to the complexity of healthcare systems such as being able to see a provider, understanding the requirements needed, possible cost of immunizations, and figuring out what costs your insurance will cover.

Please read the requirements carefully as there are important dates and criteria in each of the sections and how to get a discount code for CPR.

Information for the applicant:

What is a Titer?

"A titer test is a laboratory blood test. It checks for the presence of certain antibodies in the blood stream. Testing involves drawing blood from a patient and check it in a lab for presence of bacteria or disease. It is often used to see if someone is immune to a certain virus or needs vaccination. "

What Do Titer Tests Check For?

"Titers check to see if you have had an infection or are immune to a disease. This can happen from having contracted the disease or vaccination. It is recommended if you are unsure of your vaccination history, think you may need a booster or have been infected by a disease."

Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis Titers

Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis titers are required by the Health Scholar Program to show compliance. Since these are both blood tests, you may ask your provider/lab to have both of these tested during the same blood draw session to save yourself multiple visits and needle sticks.
